- [04V421000](/recalls/nhtsa/04V421000.md), 2004-08-30: FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE. ON CERTAIN PASSENGER VEHICLES, CONTAMINATION OF THE FILTER IN THE FUEL DELIVERY MODULE \(FDM\) CAN REDUCE, AND EVENTUALLY BLOCK, THE FLOW OF FUEL TO THE ENGINE. Built 1999\-05\-25 to 2001\-11\-30.
- [01V230000](/recalls/nhtsa/01V230000.md), 2001-07-09: ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. ON CERTAIN MY 1996\-1998 PASSENGER VEHICLES BUILT AT THE KANSAS CITY, CUAUTITLAN ASSEMBLY PLANTS OR ON MY 1999 PASSENGER VEHCLES BUILT AT THE AUTOMOTIVE ALLIANCE INTERNATIONAL ASSEMBLY PLANTS, THE ROUGH SURFACE OF THE HEATER BLOWER RESISTOR'S STAINLESS STEEL BLADES CAN DAMAGE THE COPPER SURFACE OF THE WIRING HARNESS CONNECTOR. THE DAMAGE COULD, OVER TIME, CAUSE INCREASED RESISTANCE IN THE CONNECTOR AND, DUE TO SUBSEQUENT TERMINAL RELAXATION, RESULT IN AN OPEN CIRCUIT CONDITION. Built 1997\-12\-06 to 1998\-05\-31.
- [01V032000](/recalls/nhtsa/01V032000.md), 2001-02-06: EXTERIOR LIGHTING:BRAKE LIGHTS:SWITCH. VEHICLE DESCRIPTION: PASSENGER VEHICLES. THE BRAKE LAMP SWITCH TERMINALS COULD OVERHEAT. Built 1997\-12\-06 to 1998\-08\-31.
- [01V031000](/recalls/nhtsa/01V031000.md), 2001-02-06: ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:12V/24V/48V BATTERY:CABLES. VEHICLE DESCRIPTION: PASSENGER VEHICLES EQUIPPED WITH 2.5L V6 ENGINES. THE BATTERY CABLE WAS MISROUTED AND ITS ATTACHMENT TO THE ALTERNATOR CABLE WAS UNDER\-TORQUED. IF MISROUTED, THE CABLE COULD CONTACT THE POWER STEERING LINE AND THE INSULATION COULD WEAR, RESULTING IN AN ELECTRICAL SHORT. Built 1997\-12\-06 to 2000\-09\-18.
- [00V075000](/recalls/nhtsa/00V075000.md), 2000-03-09: SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC:FOUNDATION COMPONENTS. VEHICLE DESCRIPTION: PASSENGER VEHICLES NOT EQUIPPED WITH THE ANTI\-LOCK BRAKING SYSTEM \(ABS\). A PRESSURE CONSCIOUS REDUCING VALVE \(PCRV\) IN THE REAR BRAKES MAY BE SUBJECT TO CORROSION AND RESULT IN MALFUNCTION, WHEN OPERATED IN AREAS THAT USE SALT COMPOUNDS ON THE ROADWAY FOR DE\-ICING OR DUST CONTROL. Built 1997\-12\-06 to 2000\-03\-16.
- [99V226000](/recalls/nhtsa/99V226000.md), 1999-08-18: LATCHES/LOCKS/LINKAGES:DOORS:LATCH. VEHICLE DESCRIPTION: PASSENGER VEHICLES. THE DOOR LATCH MAY HAVE BEEN MANUFACTURED WITH A LATCH PAWL THAT HAS A COATING WHICH WILL SWELL IN HIGH HUMIDITY CONDITIONS. THE LATCH PAWL MAY THEN STICK IN THE OPEN OR UNLATCHED POSITION. Built 1998\-09\-09 to 1998\-11\-18.
- [99V194000](/recalls/nhtsa/99V194000.md), 1999-07-20: VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL. VEHICLE DESCRIPTION: PASSENGER VEHICLES. THE ACCELERATOR CABLE MAY HAVE BEEN MANUFACTURED WITH A BURR ON OR NEAR THE END OF THE CABLE SLEEVE INTERIOR. THIS BURR COULD FRAY THE CORE WIRE RESULTING IN THE ACCELERATOR NOT RETURNING TO IDLE WHEN THE ACCELERATOR IS RELEASED. Built 1998\-03\-16 to 1998\-04\-30.

## Canada (Transport Canada), as of 2026-10-19

- [2001042](/recalls/tc/2001042.md), 2001-02-21: Electrical. On certain vehicles, a misrouted battery cable to the alternator could contact the metal tubing that is part of the power steering line. This could eventually wear the insulation and result in an electrical short. An electrical short could potentially result in a fire, or in a no\-start or stall. Correction: Dealers will inspect vehicles and the battery cable will rerouted or replaced as required.
- [2001043](/recalls/tc/2001043.md), 2001-02-06: Lights And Instruments. On certain vehicles, the brass terminals in the stop lamp extension harness connector at the brake lamp switch are inadequate to handle the current required by the two stop lamp filaments on each side of the vehicle. Either a short or an open circuit may develop, which could result in either a lack of stop lamp function or in the stop lamps being continuously illuminated. Correction: Stop lamp switch will be replaced, in addition, the stop lamp extension harness will be replaced with a harness containing bronze terminals at the stop lamp switch connector.
- [2000077](/recalls/tc/2000077.md), 2000-03-21: Brakes. On certain vehicles, the pressure conscious reducing valve \(PCRV\) in each of the rear brakes may be subject to malfunction due to corrosion when operated in areas of high road salt use. If both PCRVs malfunction, vehicle handling may be adversely affected during braking as a result of the rear wheels locking, which could potentially result in a vehicle crash. Correction: Dealers will install improved PCRVs in the rear brake system.
- [1999157](/recalls/tc/1999157.md), 1999-08-27: Structure. On certain vehicles, the door latch pawl has a coating which will swell in high humidity conditions. In some cases, the latch pawl may stick in the open or unattached position due to this swelling. If this occurs, the door may not latch when it is closed and in some cases the door may appear to close but the latch may not be engaged. If the vehicle is driven in this condition, it could potentially result in the door opening while the vehicle is in motion. Correction: Revised side door latches will be installed on affected vehicles.
- [1999139](/recalls/tc/1999139.md), 1999-07-27: Engine. On certain vehicles, the accelerator cable may have been manufactured with a burr on or near the end of the cable sleeve interior. This burr could fray the core wire which in turn could cause the accelerator not to return to idle when the accelerator pedal is released. This could result in a vehicle crash. Correction: Accelerator cable will be replaced with a revised version which has a flared conduit sleeve end and molded\-on end fitting.
- [1998234](/recalls/tc/1998234.md), 1998-11-23: Emissions. Certain vehicles may not comply with CMVSS 1105 \- evaporative emissions. The rear fuel lines may allow fuel to seep and evaporate at the metal line to nylon tube joint at the rear of the vehicle near the fuel filter. This may cause evaporative emissions in excess of the standard. Correction: Vehicle will be inspected for signs of fuel escaping a joint between a nylon tube and a metal fuel line. If wetness or fuel odor are detected a reinforcement kit will be installed.
