## Canada (Transport Canada), as of 2026-10-19

- [2021216](/recalls/tc/2021216.md), 2021-04-09: Steering. Issue: On certain vehicles, the power steering return hoses may detach at their connection points. If this happens, power steering fluid can leak. This would result in a loss of power steering assist and power steering fluid could leak onto the road. Note: This is an expansion of Mercedes\-Benz Recall 4695079 \(Transport Canada Recall No. 2020\-517\). Safety Risk: A loss of power steering assist may result in a sudden increase in steering effort, especially at low speeds. This could increase the risk of a crash. A power steering fluid leak could create a road hazard. Corrective Actions: Mercedes\-Benz will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your vehicle to a dealer to check the power steering return hose connections. Dealers will install a clamp at the connection point, if needed.
- [2021050](/recalls/tc/2021050.md), 2021-02-05: Electrical. Issue: On certain recreational vehicles \(RVs\) and camper van conversions, moisture could cause a rear wheel speed sensor to fail. If this happens, the Electronic Stability Program \(ESP\) control unit may not work properly. Note: A malfunction of the ESP control unit can cause the ESP or ABS warning lights to turn on, and a "workshop assistance" message could appear in the instrument cluster. Safety Risk: A stability control system that does not work properly could increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: Mercedes\-Benz will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your vehicle to a dealer to replace the rear wheel speed sensors with an improved part.
- [2020517](/recalls/tc/2020517.md), 2020-10-29: Steering. This recall was replaced by Transport Canada Recall No. 2021\-216. Issue: On certain vehicles, the power steering return hoses may detach at their connection points. If this happens, power steering fluid can leak. This would result in a loss of power steering assist and power steering fluid could leak onto the road.
- [2020339](/recalls/tc/2020339.md), 2020-07-23: Seats And Restraints. Issue: On certain cargo vans, an additional bench seat may have been installed incorrectly. In specific, the seat may not be properly attached and may not have protection from corrosion. Over time, this could cause the seat to loosen and detach. Note: This recall only affects vans that were sold by Mercedes\-Benz Mississauga, and up\-fitted by Total Autoglass. Safety Risk: A seat that is loose or detaches could increase the risk of injury in a crash. Corrective Actions: Mercedes\-Benz will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your vehicle to a dealer to inspect your van. The vehicle will be repaired as necessary. Mercedes\-Benz advises that these bench seats should not be used until an inspection is completed.
- [2019467](/recalls/tc/2019467.md), 2019-09-23: Structure. Issue: On certain vans, the upper hood latch may not be properly installed. Under some driving conditions, this could allow the hood to open suddenly while driving. Safety Risk: If the hood opens while driving, it could suddenly block a driver's view. This could increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: Mercedes\-Benz will notify owners by mail and instruct them to take their van to a dealer to inspect, and if necessary, tighten the mounting screws for the upper hood latch. Any missing screws will be replaced.
- [2018576](/recalls/tc/2018576.md), 2018-10-23: Structure. On certain vehicles, an incorrect lever may have been installed on the right \(passenger\) side door locks. In some cases, it may not be possible to open the door from the inside or the outside of the vehicle, which could increase the risk of injury in the event of a crash. Correction: Dealers will inspect, and replace the affected locks if necessary. Note: This condition would not affect the door locks on left side of the vehicle.
