- [12V478000](/recalls/nhtsa/12V478000.md), 2012-10-01: EQUIPMENT:APPLIANCE:AIR CONDITIONER. Mercedes\-Benz is recalling certain model year 2013 SL\-Class vehicles manufactured from December 19, 2011, through May 31, 2012 originally equipped with R1234yf refrigerant. Daimler AG \(DAG\), the parent company of Mercedes\-Benz, conducted product testing of a vehicle, not sold in the US, but equipped with the same refrigerant. According to Mercedes\-Benz, the testing was designed to replicate worst\-case conditions expected in a severe frontal crash that would cause a rupture of the air conditioner refrigerant line. A rupture of a refrigerant line will result in a gaseous mixture of refrigerant being released into the engine compartment. Built 2011\-12\-19 to 2012\-05\-31.

## Canada (Transport Canada), as of 2026-10-19

- [2016617](/recalls/tc/2016617.md), 2016-12-13: Steering. On certain vehicles, the electric power steering control unit may have been manufactured with improperly soldered contacts. If the pins of the control unit were to lose complete contact, it could lead to a short circuit within the control unit, increasing the risk of a fire causing injury and/or damage to property. In addition, the condition could result in a loss of power steering assist, which would increase steering effort and increase the risk of a crash resulting in injury and/or damage to property. Correction: Dealers will replace the electric power steering control module.
- [2013382](/recalls/tc/2013382.md), 2013-11-04: Airbag. On certain vehicles, the front passenger seat Occupant Classification System may malfunction and deactivate the front passenger airbag while a person is seated in the front passenger seat, illuminating the "PASSENGER AIRBAG OFF" warning light. This could result in the airbag not deploying when warranted in a crash, increasing the risk of personal injury. Correction: Dealers will verify the proper operation of the Occupant Classification System, and affect repairs if necessary.
