- [09V081000](/recalls/nhtsa/09V081000.md), 2009-03-13: LATCHES/LOCKS/LINKAGES. MERCEDES BENZ IS RECALLING 54 MY 2009 S\-CLASS, W221 VEHICLES.  DURING PRODUCTION THE FRONT AND REAR PASSENGER SIDE DOOR LOCKS MAY HAVE BEEN MISTAKENLY INTERCHANGED DURING PRODUCTION.  THE EXCHANGE OF A FRONT AND A REAR PASSENGER SIDE DOOR LOCK WOULD RESULT IN A PASSENGER SIDE DOOR THAT CANNOT BE OPENED BY MERELY PULLING ON THE INTERIOR HANDLE AND A REAR DOOR LOCK THAT CAN BE OPENED WITH A SIMPLE PULL OF THE INTERIOR DOOR HANDLE EVEN IF LOCKED. Built 2008\-09\-01 to 2008\-09\-30.

- [2009139](/recalls/tc/2009139.md), 2009-05-13: Other. Certain vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of CMVSS 206 \- Door Locks and Door Retention Components.  The front and rear passenger\-side door latches may have been switched during vehicle assembly.  This could result in a passenger front door which cannot be opened by merely pulling on the interior handle and a rear door that can be opened with a simple pull of the interior door handle even if locked.  Such a condition could affect the safe exiting of the vehicle in the event of a crash or protection of children from inadvertent opening of the rear door.  Correction: Dealers will replace, if necessary, any incorrectly installed door latch assemblies.
