- [2023673](/recalls/tc/2023673.md), 2023-12-15: Structure. Issue: On certain vehicles, the plastic panel located between the windshield and the panoramic sunroof may not have been attached correctly during a prior service repair. Over time, the panel could loosen and separate from the vehicle. Note: This is an expansion of Transport Canada recall 2021\-170. Safety Risk: A panel that detaches from a moving vehicle could create a road hazard for others and increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: Mercedes\-Benz will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your vehicle to a dealership to replace the front roof panel.
- [2021507](/recalls/tc/2021507.md), 2021-08-11: Steering. Issue: On certain vehicles, the power steering control unit may corrode. If this happens, moisture could enter the control unit and cause it to fail. This could cause a loss of power steering assist. Note: This is an expansion of Mercedes\-Benz recall 4694202 \(Transport Canada Recall No. 2020\-617\). This recall only affects vehicles that were originally sold or ever registered in areas of heavy road salt usage \(Ontario, Quebec, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island, and Newfoundland \& Labrador\). Safety Risk: A loss of power steering assist would result in a sudden increase in steering effort, especially at low vehicle speeds. This could increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: Mercedes\-Benz will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your vehicle to a dealer to replace the power steering control unit.
- [2021291](/recalls/tc/2021291.md), 2021-05-14: Visual System. Issue: On certain vehicles, a software problem could cause the rearview camera image not to appear on the central display. Canadian regulations require the rearview image to display when the transmission is shifted into reverse gear. Safety Risk: A rearview camera image that does not display could reduce a driver's ability to see behind the vehicle while backing up. This could increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: Mercedes\-Benz will notify owners by mail and send a wireless over\-the\-air software update to each vehicle. If the update cannot be completed successfully, you will be notified to schedule an appointment to have the update performed by a dealer.
- [2021210](/recalls/tc/2021210.md), 2021-04-07: Steering. Issue: On certain vehicles, the universal joint connection on the steering shaft could loosen over time. As a result, there could be noise or a change in steering feel. If a driver continues to operate the vehicle, the bearing could separate from the universal joint and cause a loss of steering control. Safety Risk: A loss of steering could create the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: Mercedes\-Benz will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your vehicle to a dealer to inspect the steering shaft. It will be replaced, if necessary.
- [2021170](/recalls/tc/2021170.md), 2021-03-22: Structure. Issue: On certain vehicles, the plastic panel located between the windshield and the panoramic sunroof may not have been attached correctly during a prior service repair. Over time, the panel could loosen and separate from the vehicle. Safety Risk: A panel that detaches from a moving vehicle could create a road hazard for others and increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: Mercedes\-Benz will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your vehicle to a dealer to replace the front roof panel.
- [2021041](/recalls/tc/2021041.md), 2021-02-01: Accessories. Corrective Actions: Mercedes\-Benz will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your vehicle to a dealer to update the head unit software.
- [2020617](/recalls/tc/2020617.md), 2020-12-14: Steering. Issue: On certain vehicles, the power steering control unit may corrode. If this happens, moisture could enter the control unit and cause it to fail. This could cause a loss of power steering assist. Note: This recall only affects vehicles that were originally sold or ever registered in areas of heavy road salt usage \(Ontario, Quebec, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island, and Newfoundland \& Labrador\).
- [2019632](/recalls/tc/2019632.md), 2019-12-13: Airbag. Issue: On certain vehicles, the occupant classification system \(OCS\) may not work properly. In some cases, this could cause the airbag system to turn off the passenger\-front airbag, even if an adult is seated in the front passenger seat. Alternatively, the airbag may not be turned off when a child seat is installed in the front passenger seat. Safety Risk: An airbag that deploys in front of a child seat, or an airbag that doesn't properly deploy in front of a passenger could increase the risk of injury in a crash. Corrective Actions: Mercedes\-Benz will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your vehicle to a dealer to replace the front passenger seat cushion.
- [2018409](/recalls/tc/2018409.md), 2018-08-03: Airbag. On certain cars, the airbag system may not turn off the airbag when a child seat is used in the front passenger seat. In the event of a crash with an airbag deployment, this could create a risk of injury to a child. Correction: Dealers will replace the passenger seat cushion. Note: Child seats should not be used in the front passenger seat until the recall is completed.
- [2017490](/recalls/tc/2017490.md), 2017-10-10: Airbag. On certain vehicles, electrostatic discharge, when combined with a broken clock spring and insufficient grounding of the steering components, could lead to an inadvertent deployment of the driver's frontal airbag. Unintended airbag deployment, in a non\-warranted \(non\-impact\) situation, could startle the driver, which could result in a crash causing injury and/or property damage. In some instances, inadvertent deployment could cause minor injuries to vehicle occupants. Correction: Dealers will add sufficient grounding to the steering components. Note: A broken clock spring would result in a driver airbag warning message appearing in the instrument cluster, as well as a red airbag warning lamp illuminating.
