Service bulletins for the 2020 Mazda CX-30
A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

| 01-009-21-3799 | 2021-04-26. Service bulletin. POWER TRAIN. Some vehicles may exhibit that the active air shutter is working, but DTC P05A0:00 (Active air shutter: Opening angle abnormality (sticking)) is stored in memory. This is caused by improper control software of the PCM detecting the DTC immediately without performing the failsafe operation. When the active air shutter detects unusual torque, it is designed to repeat the open/close cycles up to three times as a failsafe to try to remove the objects which temporarily disturbed the movement. To correct this concern, the control software of the PCM has been modified. |

| 00-001-21-3768 | 2021-02-05. Service bulletin. STEERING; WHEELS; POWER TRAIN; ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING. Mazda has developed factory recommended scheduled maintenance services that support all major vehicle systems. Mazda recommends dealers follow the scheduled maintenance tables as cited in the vehicle specific workshop manual or owner's manual. Services performed outside of Mazda's factory scheduled maintenance are not recommended. These services are unnecessary and create unneeded expenses for your customers. |
| 07-006-20-3758 | 2021-01-05. Service bulletin. POWER TRAIN:AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION:CONTROL MODULE:SOFTWARE; ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING; EQUIPMENT:APPLIANCE:AIR CONDITIONER. Some customers may complain that after accelerating in hot weather, the A/C blows warm air for a longer time than other models. This is caused by improper control software of the PCM not allowing the A/C compressor to resume properly after acceleration. To eliminate this concern, the control software of the PCM has been modified. |
| SA-047-20b | 2020-12-04. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT ADAPTIVE/MOBILITY; EQUIPMENT; POWER TRAIN. CRACKED REAR DIFFERENTIAL. The rear differential case could develop a crack in the case, as shown below. NOTE: This could affect new vehicles just delivered to the dealer as well as customer vehicles. |
| SA-065-20 | 2020-10-05. Service bulletin. ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING; POWER TRAIN:AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION:CONTROL MODULE (TCM/PCM/TECM); EQUIPMENT:APPLIANCE:AIR CONDITIONER. Some customer's may complain that the HVAC system only blows warm to cool air (not cold) after starting the vehicle and not moving right away. This may be caused by a closed Active Air Shutter (AAS). Under specific circumstances, the AAS has a “learning issue” where AAS is kept closed after startup even if the PCM requests it to be open. The shutters will open and work correctly as soon as the vehicle speed exceeds 6.25 MPH (10 KPH). NO DTC will be set when this happens. |
| 01-004-20-3684b | 2020-08-04. Service bulletin. ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM; POWER TRAIN:AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION. Some customers may experience the master warning light turning on and a lack of power with DTC P2BF6:00 (Exhaust shutter valve position sensor circuit low input (1DC)) stored in memory. This is caused by improper logic written in the PCM for the exhaust shutter valve position sensor. |
| SA-053-20 | 2020-07-03. Service bulletin. POWER TRAIN. When replacing manual or automatic transmission, make sure to remove the plug from the old transmission (as shown below) and then re-install it to the new transmission with a new washer. The new transmissions (including remanufactured A/T) have a shipping plug, as shown in the figures (M/T: black, rubber made; A/T: pink and black, with breather). This plug is for shipping use only and needs to be removed in order to re-install the original plug from the old transmission. |
| SA-052-20 | 2020-06-02. Service bulletin. POWER TRAIN. When performing any service or repair on a customer's 2020 Mazda3 or CX-30, use MDARS to switch to Restricted Transmitting Mode. Restricted Transmitting Mode: Restricts MyMazda App remote functions. Prevents error messages being sent to the customer during vehicle service or repair. NOTE: Cancel Restricted Transmitting Mode after completing vehicle service or repair. |
| 00-001-20-3689 | 2020-04-03. Service bulletin. SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC; POWER TRAIN; EQUIPMENT:OTHER:OWNERS/SERVICE/OTHER MANUAL; ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING. |
| SA-030-20 | 2020-02-27. Service bulletin. POWER TRAIN. Service part Automatic Transaxles (ATX) manufactured on or after July, 2018 are shipped with a blank TCM that requires configuration. NOTE: The following Caution is included with every ATX that requires configuration. |
| SA-058-19 | 2019-12-21. Service bulletin. POWER TRAIN; UNKNOWN OR OTHER. WARRANTY GUIDELINES FOR RETURNED TRANSMISSION CORES. Be advised that the Mazda Remanufactured Transmission Center (MRTC) has found that up to 30% of the returned transmission cores either included the wrong transmission oil cooler, or the oil cooler was missing altogether. IMPORTANT NOTE: ALWAYS REMEMBER TO INCLUDE THE ORIGINAL OIL COOLER WITH THE RETURNED TRANSMISSION CORE! |
| SA-053-19 | 2019-12-21. Service bulletin. ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING; POWER TRAIN. GUIDE LINES AND PHOTOS TO DETERMINE IF FLUID/OIL SEEPAGE OR LEAK IS SEVERE ENOUGH TO REQUIRE WARRANTY REPAIR OR TO CLEAN AND MONITOR. Some customer's might state that they notice fluid or oil leaking/dripping on the ground when the vehicle is parked. For this concern, inspect the vehicle for any trace of a fluid or oil leak and use the following examples as a guide to determine if it is severe enough to require a repair, or just to clean the area and monitor it at the next service. |
