Service bulletins for the 2020 Mazda CX-30
A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

| SA-020-22 | 2022-05-05. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT ADAPTIVE/MOBILITY; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. Some customers may complain about the following symptoms occurring when driving without anything ahead (no metallic object reflects the radar wave such as a vehicle ahead, an oncoming vehicle, a road sign or a guard rail). *While using Mazda Radar Cruise Control (MRCC), the MRCC cancels by itself. NOTE: The customer may misinterpret MRCC cancellation as unintended braking. MRCC cancellation feels the same as the steering wheel cancel button being pressed or the brake pedal being tapped. *When MRCC is not in use, "Safety and Driver Support Systems Temporarily Disabled. Front Radar Obscured." message appears in the instrument cluster / "Remove dirt on the front radar sensor" message appears in the center display and related i-ACTIVSENSE functions stop working. This is caused by the front radar (under specific road conditions) detecting a false error as if the radar sensor is dirty, resulting in cancellation of the MRCC. (no metallic object reflects the radar wave such as a vehicle ahead, an oncoming vehicle, a road sign or a guard rail). |

| SA-006-22a | 2022-04-06. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT:MECHANICAL; POWER TRAIN; WHEELS. There have been warranty claims submitted for growling or bearing whine noise in differentials, transfer units and transmissions where the source of the noise was a wheel bearing. This misdiagnosis can lead to multiple repair attempts, warranty debits, and additional inconvenience and/or cost to the customer. To reduce the chance of this occurring, please follow the steps outlined in the repair procedure. |
| 09-008/22 | 2022-04-05. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT; STRUCTURE. Some vehicles may exhibit water leaking into the passenger compartment from the rear door through the bottom of the service hole behind the rear door trim during rain or when washing the vehicle. This is caused by one of the following: *Since the material of the seal rubber is not resistant to surfactants, the rubber deteriorates when the vehicle is washed and allows water to penetrate into the seal rubber of the service hole cover. *The lower tabs of the service hole cover may not have been completely engaged at the factory. To eliminate this concern, the seal material of the service-hole cover has been changed (Japan built Mazda3) and a mass production change will be implemented in the future (Mexico built Mazda3 and CX-30). |
| 09-006/22 | 2022-04-05. Service bulletin. LATCHES/LOCKS/LINKAGES; EQUIPMENT; FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE:STORAGE:TANK ASSEMBLY:FILLER PIPE AND CAP. Some customers may experience that after the doors are locked and the Fuel Door Lock Delay with MAZDA CONNECT has passed (default setting is 90 seconds), the fuel-filler lid does not lock and can be opened when pressing it. NOTE: *The fuel-filler lid does not lock immediately after the doors are locked, but after the time set in the Fuel Door Lock Delay (0, 30, 60, 90, and 120 seconds). *Although the root cause has not been identified, the vehicle should be repaired by adjusting the fuel-filler lid opener cable position when there is a customer complaint. |

Use the following test procedures in this Service Bulletin to test Mazda vehicle batteries and to generate a Warranty Code. |
| 01-001/22a | 2022-04-05. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT; ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING. Some vehicles may exhibit an excessive body vibration when idling or driving after being left in extremely cold weather (-20°C/-4°F or below) for a long time. This is caused by the No.1, No. 3 and No. 4 rubber hardening due to material characteristics. NOTE: This concern only happens in extremely cold weather, therefore this TSB is only applicable for extremely cold regions. To eliminate this concern, the cold environment performance of the engine mount rubber has been increased by changing the rubber material. |

| SA-003/22 | 2022-02-04. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:BODY CONTROL MODULE:SOFTWARE; EQUIPMENT. Some vehicles may store DTC U0300:57 (Body control module (BCM) internal malfunction) after a BCM replacement or MDARS BCM software update (NOT with BCM update for SSPC5 or 4621B using MDRT) and the DTC cannot be erased. This is caused by a BCM-VCM software error. Mazda is aware of the issue and is working on a resolution. | 09-039-21-3807 | 2022-01-06. Service bulletin. STRUCTURE; EQUIPMENT; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. Door Outer Handle Touch Sensor Does Not Lock And/Or Unlock: Some customers may experience one or both of the following symptoms while locking and unlocking the doors works fine using the remote transmitter. Symptom 1: The touch sensor of the front door outer handle does not lock the doors after rain and/or car washing, even though unlocking is possible. Symptom 2: The touch sensor of the front door outer handle does not unlock the doors. Cause 1 (for Symptom 1): Water may accumulate around the touch sensor in the outer handle, resulting in temporary lower sensitivity of the capacitive sensor. Also, if car wash foam gets inside the outer handle while washing the vehicle, the foam may disturb the touch sensor detection. Mazda is still working on a mass production change for this concern. Cause 2 (for Symptom 2): Improper soldering in the production process may disturb the touch sensor detection. To eliminate this concern, the production process has been modified. Customers having this concern should have their vehicle repaired using the following repair procedure. |
| 09-019-21-3813a | 2022-01-06. Service bulletin. FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM; STRUCTURE; EQUIPMENT. Fuel Filler Lid Panel Is Deformed: Some vehicles may exhibit a deformed fuel-filler lid panel (1) attached to the fuel-filler lid box, resulting in a poor appearance. This concern is caused by the lid box not having enough water drainage capability which leads to the accumulation of water inside it. The water then freezes in cold weather and expands or the inner side of the lid panel absorbs the water and swells from long exposure, deforming the lid panel. To eliminate this concern, the shape of the fuel-filler lid box has been modified to have better drainage capability and a modified fuel-filler lid panel service part has been established for less water absorbance. Customers having this concern should have their vehicle repaired using the following repair procedure. |
| 09-012-21-3801b | 2022-01-06. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM; EQUIPMENT. Door Lock Will Not Work Using Remote Transmitter and Engine Will Not Start: Some customers may experience all of following symptoms: 1. The door lock/unlock operation will not work using the remote transmitter button. 2. The door lock/unlock operation will not work using the door lock/release touch sensor. 3. The engine will not start using the ignition switch. 4. The transmitter operates by itself. 5. The key battery drains faster than usual. Symptoms 1-3: This may be caused when excess load is applied to the remote transmitter, deforming the electrical terminals and creating poor contact with the battery. To eliminate this concern, the structure in the remote transmitter has been modified to reduce the deformation of the electrical terminals. Symptom 4-5: This may be caused when excessive load is applied to the remote transmitter, creating a gap around the gasket where moisture enters and corrodes the circuit board which in turn drains the key battery faster than usual. To eliminate this concern, the thickness of the case wall on the gasket mounting surface has been increased and the bonding strength of the components has been improved to prevent deformation. Customers having this concern should have their vehicle repaired using the following repair procedure. |
