01-013-222022-11-04. Service bulletin. ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING. Some customers may experience the CHECK ENGINE light ON with DTC P0126:00 (Thermostat stuck open) and one or more of the following symptoms: * The engine takes longer to warm up * The engine temperature gauge fluctuates * The low coolant temperature indicator (blue) light stays on longer or comes on while driving * Poor heater performance, especially at idle NOTE: * Vehicles with SKYACTIV-G 2.5T are not applicable. * If DTC P2B61:00 (Coolant control valve circuit range/performance) accompanies, this information is not applicable. Diagnose according to the instructions in MGSS. Due to production variety of the failsafe thermostat integrated in the coolant control valve, engine coolant may enter into a dry hollow in the failsafe thermostat, resulting in unintended opening of the failsafe thermostat at lower temperatures (104-176 °F (40-80 °C)). To eliminate this concern, the production process of the coolant control valve has been modified.
01-012-222022-11-04. Service bulletin. ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING. Some vehicles may exhibit accumulation of dried coolant (1) around the water pipe (2). This is caused by a gap between the housing and pipe due to a press fitting during the manufacturing process. The accumulated coolant is solidified and plugs the gap in high temperature environment and the seepage is stopped and does not progress. This is normal and does not require a part replacement, clean off the dried coolant from around the pipe with a wire brush.
SA-065-222022-11-04. Service bulletin. ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING. Some vehicles equipped with a coolant control valve may exhibit difficulties when refilling the coolant because the control valve is closed and air in the engine cannot escape during ignition ON. Therefore, turn the ignition OFF when refilling engine coolant using the radiator filler neck.
SA-023-222022-05-05. Service bulletin. ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING. A tapping/rattling noise may be noticed from the valve train area. This operating condition can occur on new vehicles which have been delivered to Mazda dealers (due to loading and unloading from transport trucks or customers moving their vehicles in and out of their garages to wash the vehicle, etc.). This condition may also occur if the engine is not allowed to warm up after multiple cold starts.

SA-047-212021-10-05. Service bulletin. ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING. If you receive a customer concern about the CHECK ENGINE light coming on and DTC P3400 (cylinder deactivation system malfunction) stored, the cylinder deactivation oil control valve may be plugged with plastic debris from the oil filter wrapper. The debris may enter the center of the oil filter when poking a hole in the filter wrapper during removal, and then travel through the engine and plug the cylinder deactivation oil control valve.
MT-002-212021-10-02. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT; ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING. Ethanol is becoming a common additive in gasoline. Gasoline containing ethanol is likely available at your local gasoline station. Typical blends of ethanol include E10 and E85. E10: A blend of 10% ethanol and 90% gasoline, E85: A blend of 85% ethanol and 15% gasoline, All Mazda vehicles can run on gasoline containing up to 10% ethanol (E10) but only some 1999-2001 B3000 trucks can run on gasoline with more than 10% ethanol blended. E10 compatible vehicles: All Mazda vehicles. E85 compatible vehicles: 1999-2001 B3000 Mazda trucks with the 8th VIN digit is V. What if a customer puts E85 in there Mazda vehicle?
