- [07V401000](/recalls/nhtsa/07V401000.md), 2007-09-05: FUEL SYSTEM, DIESEL. ON CERTAIN TRUCKS EQUIPPED WITH ASET AC MODEL ENGINES, THE ENGINE AS CONFIGURED WITH AN EXTERNAL EXHAUST GAS RECIRCULATION SYSTEM MAKES SERVICING THE FUEL INJECTION LINES DIFFICULT WHEN USING TRADITIONAL TOOLS. THEREFORE, IT IS POSSIBLE FOR FUEL LEAKS TO DEVELOP WHEN REMOVING AND INSTALLING THE FUEL INJECTION LINES. Built 2002\-01\-01 to 2007\-01\-31.
- [06V392000](/recalls/nhtsa/06V392000.md), 2006-10-13: FUEL SYSTEM, DIESEL. ON CERTAIN TRUCKS, A LEAK IN THE ASET AC FUEL INJECTION LINE MAY SPRAY FUEL ON THE EXHAUST GAS RECIRCULATION PIPES THAT CARRY HOT EXHAUST GASES . Built 2002\-01\-01 to 2006\-10\-31.
- [05V015000](/recalls/nhtsa/05V015000.md), 2005-01-14: FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE:DELIVERY:HOSES, LINES/PIPING, AND FITTINGS. ON CERTAIN HEAVY DUTY CLASS 8 DIESEL TRUCKS EQUIPPED WITH ASET AC ENGINES, THE LOCATION OF THE FUEL INLET HOSE MAY RESULT IN OVERHEATING OR ABRASION OF THE HOSE, WHICH MAY LEAD TO A PREMATURE FAILURE. Built 2002\-08\-01 to 2004\-12\-31.
- [04V456000](/recalls/nhtsa/04V456000.md), 2004-09-20: STEERING. ON CERTAIN TRUCK CHASSIS, THE STEERING GEAR MOUNTING BOLTS WERE MADE OF INCONSISTENT BOLT MATERIAL, WHICH HAS LED TO BOLT FAILURES. THIS INCONSISTENT BOLT MATERIAL CONDITION COULD RESULT IN A FAILURE OF A STEERING GEAR MOUNTING BOLTS. THE STEERING GEAR IS MOUNTED TO THE VEHICLE'S FRAME WITH THREE BOLTS. Built 2003\-04\-01 to 2003\-11\-30.
- [04V159000](/recalls/nhtsa/04V159000.md), 2004-04-07: FUEL SYSTEM, OTHER:STORAGE:TANK ASSEMBLY:PRESSURE RELIEF DEVICES. ON CERTAIN CHASSIS BUILT WITH LNG ENGINES, THE NEXGEN LNG TANK'S PRIMARY AND SECONDARY RELIEF VALVES COULD FAIL TO OPEN AND RELIEVE TANK PRESSURE. Built 1995\-04\-26 to 2004\-02\-09.
- [03V522000](/recalls/nhtsa/03V522000.md), 2003-12-11: STEERING:LINKAGES:KNUCKLE:SPINDLE:ARM. ON CERTAIN CHASSIS EQUIPPED WITH DANA STEERING AXLE ASSEMBLIES. THESE AXLES ARE BUILT WITH AN INTEGRAL KNUCKLE AND STEERING ARM. THE STEERING ARM COULD HAVE LONGITUDINAL CRACKS. Built 2003\-08\-01 to 2003\-09\-03.
- [03V253000](/recalls/nhtsa/03V253000.md), 2003-07-17: SERVICE BRAKES, AIR:SUPPLY:CHECK VALVE. CERTAIN HEAVY DUTY VEHICLES FAIL TO COMPLY WITH THE REQUIREMENTS OF FEDERAL MOTOR VEHICLE SAFETY STANDARD NO. 121, "AIR BRAKE SYSTEMS." IMPROPER SEATING OF THE CHECK VALVE RETAINER IN THE BRASS FITTING HOUSING HAS OCCURRED. IT IS POSSIBLE FOR THE AIR BRAKE SYSTEM PRESSURE TO PUSH THE CHECK VALVE INTERNAL PARTS INTO THE PRIMARY SYSTEM RESERVOIR AND A VEHICLE OPERATOR WOULD NOT KNOW THAT THIS HAS HAPPENED. Built 2003\-05\-19 to 2003\-06\-20.

- [2007278](/recalls/tc/2007278.md), 2007-08-28: Brakes. On certain trucks, the engine configuration makes servicing fuel injection lines difficult when using traditional tools. It is possible for fuel leaks to develop following recall campaign 2006258 \(Mack SC0317\) or when line removal is required to gain access to other engine components. Underhood fuel leakage could result in a vehicle fire. Correction: Dealers will install an updated fuel injection line that offers better clamping surface when torqued. This will be done using specially designed tools to ensure correct torque is applied.
- [2006258](/recalls/tc/2006258.md), 2006-10-10: Fuel System. On certain trucks, a leak in the fuel injection line may spray fuel on the Exhaust Gas Recirculation \(EGR\) pipes. The hot EGR pipes could ignite the fuel, causing an underhood fire. Correction: Dealers will inspect and, if required, replace the fuel injection lines. A protective sleeve will be installed over the lines. Note: Recall cancelled, see TC 2007102
- [2005009](/recalls/tc/2005009.md), 2005-01-13: Fuel System. On certain vehicles, the location of the fuel hose used on the ASET AC engine may result in overheating and/or abrasion of the hose, which may lead to a premature failure. If the hose fails, fuel can be sprayed on the exhaust manifold, which could potentially lead to an engine compartment fire. Correction: Dealers will replace the fuel inlet hose.
- [2004341](/recalls/tc/2004341.md), 2004-09-17: Steering. On certain vehicles, the bolts that mount the steering gear to the frame can fail due to bolt quality issues which cause variation in the torque\-tension relationship for the joint. This results in an inconsistent clamp load, which can cause the bolt to be either over\-stretched \(at or above yield strength\) or under\-stretched when torqued to specification. Failure of two of the three bolts could result in loss of steering control. Correction: Dealers will replace the mounting bolts.
- [2004218](/recalls/tc/2004218.md), 2004-07-07: Brakes. On certain vehicles equipped with 18,000 lb and 20,000 lb front axle assemblies, the front brake chamber is too small to meet the stopping distance requirements of CMVSS 121. Correction: Dealer will replace the type\-20 brake chamber with a larger type\-24 brake chamber.
- [2004046](/recalls/tc/2004046.md), 2004-02-04: Steering. On certain vehicles, the steering arm could have a longitudinal crack. The crack may intersect the tapered mounting hole where the steering arm ball socket is mounted. If the crack should propagate, the ball stud could become loose causing a loss of steering control, which could result in a crash. Correction: Dealer will inspect the integral knuckle and steer arm and replace if necessary.
- [2003315](/recalls/tc/2003315.md), 2003-12-05: Brakes. Certain vehicles do not comply with the requirements of CMVSS 121 "Air Brake Systems". Due to improper seating of the check valve retainer in the brass fitting housing, it is possible for the air brake system pressure to push the check valve internal parts into the primary system reservoir and a vehicle operator would not know that this has happened. In this condition, the vehicle would not meet the emergency requirements of the standard. Correction: Dealer will replace the check valve.
