Service bulletins for the 2018 Lincoln Navigator
A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

| TSB 20-2166 | 2020-07-08. Service bulletin. POWER TRAIN; ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING; EQUIPMENT ADAPTIVE/MOBILITY. Some 2018-2019 Expedition/Navigator vehicles built on or before 8-Apr-2019 equipped with a 3.5L EcoBoost engine may exhibit a ticking/tapping or rattle type noise from the top front cover area of the engine on initial start-up after a cold soak of 6 hours or more that may last for 2-5 seconds. This may be due to a worn variable cam timing (VCT) unit. To correct the condition, follow the Service Procedure steps to replace the VCT units and update the powertrain control module (PCM) calibration with revised VCT parameters. |

| SSM 48807 | 2020-06-04. Service bulletin. FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE:FUEL INJECTION SYSTEM; ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING. Some 2017-2020 Model year vehicles equipped with 3.3L, 3.5L EcoBoost, or 5.0L engines may exhibit stalling, lack of power, low fuel rail pressure and/or DTCs P0087 or P008A after a repair was made that required the removal of the fuel line that connects the high-pressure fuel pump to the port injection rail, such as injector replacements or base engine repairs. This line must be installed in the correct orientation as it has an internal one-way check valve. To determine if the fuel line has been installed improperly, look at the position of the Oetiker clamp (stainless band clamped around the black fuel line). The clamp holds the one-way check valve in place and should be located closest to the end connected to the port injection rail. If the clamp is not closest to the port injection rail, remove and reinstall the line in the proper orientation. |
| SSM 48806 | 2020-06-04. Service bulletin. ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING. Some 2018-2020 Navigator vehicles may exhibit excessive oil consumption with no visible oil leaks with or without diagnostic trouble code (DTC) P0365 and/or P0369. Engineering is working to implement a PCM calibration update for this condition. In the interim, clear the DTCs with the appropriate Ford scan tool, top off the oil to the top of the full range on the dipstick and schedule a follow-up appointment with the customer for late July 2020. Advise the customer that a repair is expected to be available in July and remind customers to follow the Owner's Manual to check oil level. |
| TSB 20-2015 | 2020-02-04. Service bulletin. ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING. Some 2017-2018 F-150 vehicles equipped with a 3.5L EcoBoost engine built at Kansas City Assembly Plant on or before 23-Feb-2018 or Dearborn Truck Plant on or before 26-Feb-2018 and Expedition/Navigator vehicles built on or before 19-Mar-2018 may exhibit an oil leak from the oil pan RTV seal. This may be due to a lack of RTV adhesion. This article includes detailed steps to achieve proper RTV adhesion. To correct the condition, follow the Service Procedure steps to replace the oil pan. |
| SSM 48272 | 2019-11-05. Service bulletin. ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. Some 2017-2018 F-150s built on or before 10-Jul-2018 and 2018-2019 Expedition and Navigator built on or before 8-Apr-2019 with 3.5L EcoBoost may exhibit tick, tap, or rattle type noises from top of engine front cover for 2-5 seconds after a cold start. A TSB is expected to be published late 4th quarter 2019. In the interim, replace all 4 VCT units and update the PCM calibration. Do not replace other cam drive related components unless inspection identifies a concern. Refer to the Workshop Manual (WSM), Section 303-01. Claim labor replace VCTs using published labor operations and PCM programming using M-time. Part availability is currently limited. Dealers should order parts only when required to complete a repair. Once the parts are ordered, the vehicle may be returned to the customer to drive. This condition does not affect long term durability or performance. |
| TSB 19-2232 | 2019-08-06. Service bulletin. ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING:EXHAUST SYSTEM:EMISSION CONTROL:CRANKCASE (PCV); ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING. Some 2017-2019 F-150 and 2018-2019 Expedition/Navigator vehicles built on or before 1-Apr-2019 and equipped with a 3.5L EcoBoost engine may exhibit excessive oil consumption with no visible oil leaks with or without diagnostic trouble code (DTC) P0365 and/or P0369. This may be due to a concern with the positive crankcase ventilation (PCV) system. To correct the condition, follow the Service Procedure steps to verify the condition and replace the valve covers. |
| SSM 48055 | 2019-07-08. Service bulletin. ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING. Some 2017-2018 F-150 and 2018-2019 Expedition/Navigator vehicles equipped with a 3.5L EcoBoost engine, where the variable cam timing (VCT) unit or long block assembly requires replacement for any reason, the PCM calibration must also be updated during the repair using the latest version of the appropriate Ford scan tool. Claim the labor required to complete PCM programming using M time. Monitor Oasis for updates. |
| SSM 47983 | 2019-06-06. Service bulletin. ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING. Some 2017-2019 F-150 and 2018-2019 Expedition/Navigator vehicles equipped with a 3.5L EcoBoost engine built on or before 1-Apr-2019 may exhibit excessive oil consumption with or without diagnostic trouble code (DTC) P0365 and/or P0369. If there are no visible external oil leaks, replace both valve covers. Refer to Workshop Manual, Section 303-01. For claiming, use causal part 6582 and applicable labor operations in Section 6 of the Service Labor Time Standards (SLTS) Manual. |
| TSB19-2132 | 2019-06-05. Service bulletin. ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING. Some 2018-2019 F-150 vehicles equipped with a 3.5L EcoBoost or 2.7L EcoBoost engine and some 2018-2019 Expedition and Navigator vehicles equipped with a 3.5L EcoBoost engine may exhibit an illuminated malfunction indicator lamp (MIL) with diagnostic trouble code (DTC) P04F0 and/or P144C stored in the powertrain control module (PCM). This may be due to loose or partially connected evaporative emissions (EVAP) vapor lines. Before completing the Powertrain Control/Emissions Diagnosis (PC/ED) Manual pinpoint test (PPT) HX follow the Service Procedure. |
| SSM 47740 | 2019-03-04. Service bulletin.
