The affected vehicles may encounter the following issues: remote Start/Climate Control function not working, vehicle Status on the Kia Access App not updating, connected routing not functioning properly.

TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETIN: VOLUNTARY SERVICE CAMPAIGN: AEWP INSPECTION AND REPLACEMENT (SC325) - This bulletin provides information to inspect and, if necessary, replace the Auxiliary Electric Water Pump (AEWP), control harness wiring, and/or engine room junction box for coolant intrusion and/or corrosion on certain 2023MY Niro Hybrid (HEV) and Plug-in Hybrid (PHEV), 2023MY Sportage HEV/PHEV, and 2022-2023MY Sorento HEV/PHEV Kia vehicles listed in this bulletin. The AEWP in the subject vehicles may crack internally and allow coolant to intrude into the AEWP circuitry. If coolant enters the AEWP circuitry, the Check Engine Light (CEL) may be illuminated with one or more DTCs listed on page 2. If the vehicle continues to be driven in this condition, the Active Air Flap (AAF) warning message can also activate, and coolant may eventually migrate through the wiring harness to the engine room junction block. This may result in a reduction of motive power and may cause the vehicle to release air pollutants which exceeds Federal and California standards. These standards were established to protect the public health and welfare from the dangers of air pollution.

The affected AVN unit on the vehicles may not respond when pressing the ‘RADIO’ hard key/button on the AVN unit or when selecting the ‘RADIO’ icon on the AVN menu screen. Also, a warning sound accompanied by a ‘Slippery road ahead. Drive carefully’ or ‘Uneven road ahead. Drive carefully’ warning can be displayed on the instrument cluster. The current AVN software causes the warning sound and message to repeat approximately every ten (10) seconds, if the vehicle is not in motion, in ‘PARK’ or driving on even surfaces.

The affected vehicles may be unable to reset the ‘Oil Change Reminder’ notice on the instrument cluster. The updated software will allow access to reset the ‘Oil Change Reminder’ notice on the instrument cluster via the AVN menu.

This condition will cause the warning lamps on the instrument cluster to illuminate with stored DTC(s) P195800 and/or P19600.

TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETIN: VOLUNTARY SERVICE CAMPAIGN: COWL WATER INTRUSION REPAIR (SC298) - This bulletin provides information to apply additional body seam sealer and also to inspect and, if necessary, replace the blower motor on certain 2023-2024MY Sorento (MQ4a) vehicles produced at Kia Georgia (KaGA)from October 25, 2023 through February 11, 2024. The HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning) system uses cooling and heating to help maintain a pleasant environment inside the vehicle. The blower motor controls the airflow for the HVAC system. Due to improper body seam sealer application at the HVAC fresh air intake, water may enter through the HVAC fresh air intake and onto the blower motor, potentially causing the blower motor to be noisy, operate more slowly, and eventually become inoperative. If this occurs, customers may experience reduced HVAC fan speed, noise and, in some cases, wet carpets.
