TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETIN: BEARING CLEARANCE TESTER (BCT) PROCEDURES - This bulletin provides information regarding test procedure of the Bearing Clearance Tester (BCT) Special Service Tool (SST). The SST comes pre-calibrated from the supplier however, in some cases, due to variable shop compressor air pressure, the SST may need to be re-calibrated to ensure that the tool provides accurate readings when testing the engine rod bearing wear. The calibration and BCT measuring point maintenance is included in this bulletin.

This warranty extension is to address the Oil Pressure Switch leaking condition at no cost to the customers during this extended warranty period.

TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETIN: TRAILER HITCH ACCESSORY FUSE REQUIREMENT - This bulletin provides information regarding the trailer hitch accessory installation on some 2016-2020MY Sorento (UMa) vehicles. Note that the Kia trailer hitch accessory kit requires the use of a 15 Amp fuse rating to be used. The manufacturer of the trailer hitch accessory specifies a fuse size based on development and design of their components including pin terminal, number of circuits, and module design. Always confirm the model of the hitch installed and use the recommended fuse rating required by the manufacturer.

Some replacement long blocks may come with pre-installed fuel rail, injectors, and injector wiring harness. If the condition is present, it is possible that the injector harness was not installed correctly. The connections may be swapped from cylinder No. 1 and cylinder No. 4, and from cylinder No. 2 and cylinder No. 3.

This pitstop provides the KDS service procedure for mileage setting on the models listed below with newly replaced instrument clusters. Certain models allow for mileage setting with the KDS, which prevents the need to send out the instrument cluster to a 3rd party for mileage adjustment (refer to PS264). After a new cluster is installed, cluster (variant) coding may also need to be conducted using the KDS. Make sure the KDS software is also updated to the latest version. Mileage setting should be performed by using the KDS only, as described in this bulletin.
