These concerns may be due to the inhibitor switch not allowing the correct gear position signal to be sent to various control units.
TSBENG1622017-08-25. Service bulletin. ENGINE. TSB: DATA COLLECTION: EXTRACT CALIFORNIA EMISSIONS DATA FROM ECU (DC17) - This bulletin provides information related to extracting ?in use performance tracking? emissions data from the Engine Control Unit (ECU) of certain vehicles sold in California. The California Air Resources Board (CARB) requires the emissions data from vehicles with a minimum of 3,000 accumulated miles without reprogramming or resetting. To facilitate collection of this data at the dealer level, KDS screenshots will allow the capture of relevant parameters.
PS5082017-08-25. Service bulletin. ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING; FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE. PITSTOP: ?FILL INVERTER COOLANT? MESSAGE AFTER REPAIR - Some technicians may report seeing the ?fill inverter coolant? message on the cluster after performing an HEV system service requiring the coolant to be drained. The logic for this message is such that it will be displayed when the RPM of the EWP climbs while line load goes down, indicating a possible cavitation. This is due to air in the system. Much like bleeding any fluid system utilizing a pump, the hybrid cooling system must be bled in a particular manner to avoid aeration.
PS4812017-08-02. Service bulletin. ENGINE; POWER TRAIN. PS481: DUAL CLUTCH TRANSMISSION (DCT) CHARACTERISTICS - All models with a 1.6L Turbo engine may come equipped with a 7-speed Dual Clutch Transmission (DCT), except the 2017MY~ Niro (DE) with a 1.6L Atkinson engine comes equipped with a 6-speed Dual Clutch Transmission (DCT). This automatic transmission is unlike the conventional automatic transmission found in the complete line up of Kia vehicles. The new DCT improves fuel efficiency and can also provide a sportier feel. Certain aspects of this technology may lead to customer concerns if they are unfamiliar with it. To help maximize owner satisfaction on this new technology, Kia would like all dealership sales and service personnel to be familiar with the characteristics of this new transmission.
PS415R22017-02-17. Service bulletin. ENGINE. PITSTOP: OIL INTRUSION INTO E-CVVT COVER - WHEN DIAGNOSING A DTC RELATED TO THE E-CVVT SYSTEM, REMOVE THE THE E-CVVT COVER AND CHECK FOR POSSIBLE OIL INTRUSION (A). THE ECVVT SYSTEM UTILIZES TWO SEALS TO PREVENT INTRUSION OF OIL AND/OR DUST – A SEAL ON THE COVER (A) AND A SEAL THAT IS RECESSED IN THE ECVVT. IF OIL IS FOUND INSIDE THE COVER; THE COVER, THE OIL SEAL WITHIN THE E-CVVT ASSEMBLY AND THE E-CVVT ASSEMBLY SHOULD BE REPLACED. FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS LISTED IN THE SERVICE INFORMATION, AND IN THE VIDEO LINK BELOW, TO PROPERLY INSTALL THE OIL SEAL TO THE CORRECT DEPTH AND ALIGN THE COVER.

The summaries are NHTSA's. Each bulletin's page links NHTSA's copy of the manufacturer's document.
