## Canada (Transport Canada), as of 2026-10-19

- [2020551](/recalls/tc/2020551.md), 2020-11-12: Structure. Issue: On certain trucks, the welds that attach the trailer hitch may crack due to improper welding. As a result, the hitch could detach from the truck while towing a trailer. Note: This recall only affects certain trucks with trailer hitches installed by Commercial Truck Equipment. Safety Risk: A trailer that detaches from a truck could create a risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: Commercial Truck Equipment will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your truck to a dealer to inspect the trailer hitch and repair or replace it, as necessary. You should stop using the trailer hitch until the inspection and repair have been completed.
- [2020148](/recalls/tc/2020148.md), 2020-04-07: Lights And Instruments. Issue: On certain trucks, the warning light for the tractor anti\-lock brake system \(ABS\) may not turn on if the system loses power. If this happens, the driver will not get warning that the ABS is not working properly. Note: This problem would also cause the traction control \(TC\) and electronic stability control \(ESC\) lights not to turn on. Safety Risk: If a driver is not warned that the ABS is not working properly, there could be an increased risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: PACCAR will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your truck to a dealer to update the software for the cab control module \(CECU\).
- [2018632](/recalls/tc/2018632.md), 2018-11-19: Lights And Instruments. On certain trucks, the intermediate side marker lamp/turn signals do not comply with the requirements of Canada Motor Vehicle Safety Standard \(CMVSS\) 108 \- Lighting System and Retroreflective Devices. The intermediate side marker lamp/turn signals, mounted to the side extenders, do not include the required reflex reflectors. This could decrease vehicle conspicuity and potentially increase the risk of a crash causing injury and/or damage to property. Correction: Dealers will install reflex reflective tape to the side extender near the intermediate side marker lamps.
- [2017374](/recalls/tc/2017374.md), 2017-07-27: Electrical. On certain vehicles, the polyfuse for the spotlight could develop a short circuit in the cabin fuse box. A short circuit could result in overheating and melting of the fuse box, and could increase the risk of a fire causing injury and/or damage to property. Correction: Dealers will replace the optional polyfuse switch in the spotlight circuit with a standard fuse.
- [2017267](/recalls/tc/2017267.md), 2017-05-18: Brakes. Certain vehicles equipped with Neway ADZ Tridem rear suspension may not comply with the brake timing requirements of Canada Motor Vehicle Safety Standard \(CMVSS\) 121 \- Air Brake Systems. The brake control airline between the two relay valves is plumbed with a 3/8" airline but should be plumbed with a 1/4" line to balance the service brake application timing and meet the requirement of the standard. An oversized airline could cause a delay in brake activation and increase stopping distances, which could increase the risk of a crash causing injury and/or damage to property. Correction: Dealers will update and modify the brake piping of the air brake system.
- [2015316](/recalls/tc/2015316.md), 2015-07-20: Lights And Instruments. Certain vehicles equipped with HID headlamps may not comply with the requirements of Canada Motor Vehicle Safety Standard 108 \- Lighting System and Retroreflective Devices. A Daytime Running Lamp \(DRL\) that is optically combined with a turn signal lamp must switch off when the turn signal lamp is switched on as a hazard warning signal. In the affected vehicles, the DRL overrides the hazard flashing functionality after the service brake is applied for more than 2 seconds, which is contrary to the standard. The hazard functionality returns to normal when the application of the service brake is removed. Turn signal functionality would not impacted. Failure to warn oncoming vehicles with flashing hazard lamps could increase the risk of a crash causing injury and/or damage to property. Correction: Dealers will update vehicle software.
- [2015189](/recalls/tc/2015189.md), 2015-05-08: Electrical. On certain vehicles equipped with PACCAR MX\-13 engines and Delco\-Remy 40SI alternators, the alternator charge cable may chafe against an air conditioning discharge line. This chafing could lead to damage of the alternator cable's insulation and could lead to an electrical short, increasing the risk of fire, which could result in injury and/or damage to property. Correction: Dealers will rotate the alternator cable end 180 degrees to provide necessary clearance and reattach the cable to the alternator.
- [2015037](/recalls/tc/2015037.md), 2015-01-28: Brakes. On certain vehicles equipped with a Wabco quick release with double check valves, used to control park/spring brake application, the valve may leak internally. This could cause unintended partial or full park/spring brake application, which could affect service brake function and increase the risk of a crash causing injury and/or damage to property. Correction: Dealers will affect repairs.
- [2014020](/recalls/tc/2014020.md), 2014-01-24: Seats And Restraints. On certain vehicles, the seat belts may not comply with Canada Motor Vehicle Safety Standard 209 \- Seat Belt Assemblies. Due to a defect in manufacturing, the seat belt buckle may not release as required by the standard. This could hinder egress from the vehicle in an emergency, increasing the risk of injury. Correction: Dealers will inspect and, if necessary, replace affected seatbelt buckles.
- [2013432](/recalls/tc/2013432.md), 2013-12-05: Lights And Instruments. The stop/turn/tail lights used on certain vehicles may not comply with the requirements of Canada Motor Vehicle Safety Standard \(CMVSS\) 108 \- Lighting System and Retroreflective Devices. The plastic lamp housing may shrink, causing the light to fall out of the light retention ring . In this situation, the light would no longer comply with the mounting requirements of CMVSS 108 and visibility to other motorists would be affected. This could increase the risk of a crash causing property damage and/or personal injury. Correction: Dealers will replace affected lights.
- [2013077](/recalls/tc/2013077.md), 2013-03-12: Seats And Restraints. On certain trucks, the cables which anchor the seatbelt buckle assemblies could fail. Failure of the seatbelt to restrain the seat occupant would increase the risk of personal injury during a crash. Correction: Dealers will replace the driver and passenger seatbelt buckle assemblies.
