## Canada (Transport Canada), as of 2026-10-19

- [2020461](/recalls/tc/2020461.md), 2020-09-29: Brakes. Issue: Certain trucks were built with a standard rear brake ABS modulator valve instead of a quick release valve. This could result in an increased stopping distance. Note: This recall only affects certain trucks equipped with WABCO 6S/6M ABS brake systems and drum brakes. Safety Risk: An incorrect ABS modulator valve can cause increased stopping distances and increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: PACCAR will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your truck to a Kenworth dealer to replace the standard rear brake ABS modulator valves with quick release ABS modulator valves.
- [2020148](/recalls/tc/2020148.md), 2020-04-07: Lights And Instruments. Issue: On certain trucks, the warning light for the tractor anti\-lock brake system \(ABS\) may not turn on if the system loses power. If this happens, the driver will not get warning that the ABS is not working properly. Note: This problem would also cause the traction control \(TC\) and electronic stability control \(ESC\) lights not to turn on. Safety Risk: If a driver is not warned that the ABS is not working properly, there could be an increased risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: PACCAR will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your truck to a dealer to update the software for the cab control module \(CECU\).
- [2018632](/recalls/tc/2018632.md), 2018-11-19: Lights And Instruments. On certain trucks, the intermediate side marker lamp/turn signals do not comply with the requirements of Canada Motor Vehicle Safety Standard \(CMVSS\) 108 \- Lighting System and Retroreflective Devices. The intermediate side marker lamp/turn signals, mounted to the side extenders, do not include the required reflex reflectors. This could decrease vehicle conspicuity and potentially increase the risk of a crash causing injury and/or damage to property. Correction: Dealers will install reflex reflective tape to the side extender near the intermediate side marker lamps.
- [2017461](/recalls/tc/2017461.md), 2017-09-25: Steering. On certain vehicles, the castellated nut and cotter pin on the steer axle may not have been tightened to specification. This could cause the tie rod to become loose in the steer axle, which would result in audible noise and/or looseness in steering. If the vehicle were continued to be operated in this condition, the tie rod could disconnect from the knuckle, resulting in a complete loss of control of a vehicle wheel, which would increase the risk of a crash causing injury and/or damage to property. Correction: Dealers will inspect the torque of the castellated nuts on the tie rod, and replace the tie rod stud and knuckle as necessary.
- [2017374](/recalls/tc/2017374.md), 2017-07-27: Electrical. On certain vehicles, the polyfuse for the spotlight could develop a short circuit in the cabin fuse box. A short circuit could result in overheating and melting of the fuse box, and could increase the risk of a fire causing injury and/or damage to property. Correction: Dealers will replace the optional polyfuse switch in the spotlight circuit with a standard fuse.
- [2017093](/recalls/tc/2017093.md), 2017-02-20: Fuel System. On certain vehicles equipped with 2017 emissions engines, a tee fitting in the fuel supply was improperly manufactured and could leak fuel. Leaking fuel, in the presence of an ignition source, could result in a fire causing injury and/or damage to property. Correction: Dealers will inspect and replace affected fittings as necessary.
- [2015418](/recalls/tc/2015418.md), 2015-09-23: Engine. On certain vehicles equipped with a Cummins engine, the Engine Control Module \(ECM\) could develop an internal electrical short circuit that could blow a fuse in the ECM’s electrical supply circuit. This could result in an unexpected engine stall without the ability to restart the engine, which could increase the risk of a crash. Correction: Dealers will replacing the existing, affected ECM with a new ECM.
- [2015318](/recalls/tc/2015318.md), 2015-07-20: Brakes. Certain vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Canada Motor Vehicle Safety Standard 121 \- Air Brake Systems. The two service brake connections of the SR\-7 spring brake valve assembly that provide the valve with feedback from the primary and secondary service brake applications may have been reversed during installation. Although the SR\-7 valve would still function properly if there were normal reservoir pressure, in the event of a failure in the primary or secondary circuit, the redundant circuit would not provide adequate service brake functionality, and the vehicle would fail to meet the emergency brake system performance standard. This could result in reduced braking performance which could result in a vehicle crash. Correction: Dealers will inspect, remove and reconnect the air lines to the correct port of the SR\-7 valve.
- [2015316](/recalls/tc/2015316.md), 2015-07-20: Lights And Instruments. Certain vehicles equipped with HID headlamps may not comply with the requirements of Canada Motor Vehicle Safety Standard 108 \- Lighting System and Retroreflective Devices. A Daytime Running Lamp \(DRL\) that is optically combined with a turn signal lamp must switch off when the turn signal lamp is switched on as a hazard warning signal. In the affected vehicles, the DRL overrides the hazard flashing functionality after the service brake is applied for more than 2 seconds, which is contrary to the standard. The hazard functionality returns to normal when the application of the service brake is removed. Turn signal functionality would not impacted. Failure to warn oncoming vehicles with flashing hazard lamps could increase the risk of a crash causing injury and/or damage to property. Correction: Dealers will update vehicle software.
- [2015190](/recalls/tc/2015190.md), 2015-05-08: Electrical. On certain vehicles, water could migrate into wiper motor head and could lead to internal corrosion. This internal corrosion could form a conductive salt bridge which could result in a short circuit, causing the wiper system to fail. Loss of windshield wiping capability, should it occur during a rainy/snowy day, may compromise the driver's ability to see the road and its users, and a short circuit could increase the risk of fire, which could result in injury and/or damage to property. Correction: Dealers will install a shield over the wiper motor to protect it from water intrusions and prevent corrosion.
- [2015189](/recalls/tc/2015189.md), 2015-05-08: Electrical. On certain vehicles equipped with PACCAR MX\-13 engines and Delco\-Remy 40SI alternators, the alternator charge cable may chafe against an air conditioning discharge line. This chafing could lead to damage of the alternator cable's insulation and could lead to an electrical short, increasing the risk of fire, which could result in injury and/or damage to property. Correction: Dealers will rotate the alternator cable end 180 degrees to provide necessary clearance and reattach the cable to the alternator.
- [2015188](/recalls/tc/2015188.md), 2015-05-08: Wheels. On certain vehicles, the wheel nuts may have been insufficiently tightened during vehicle assembly. This could cause the wheel nuts to loosen and could lead to a complete separation of the wheel\(s\) from the vehicle, increasing the risk of a crash causing injury and/or damage to property. Correction: Dealers will inspect, and properly tighten the lug nuts to specification.
