On certain vehicles equipped with a Caterpillar C15 engine, the Variable Valve Actuation \(VVA\) oil line may wear against the P\-clip retaining the oil line. An oil leak could result in a vehicle fire causing property damage and/or personal injury. Correction: Caterpillar dealers will replace the VVA oil line with an updated version. - [2008072](/recalls/tc/2008072.md), 2008-02-29: Brakes. On certain vehicles, the slack adjuster may develop a fatigue crack and fail. This would render the slack adjuster inoperative, and reduce braking effectiveness. Extended stopping distances may result in a vehicle crash, causing property damage, and/or personal injury or death. On certain trucks, the wiring, parts, or transmission programming required for the auto neutral feature to function as designed were either not installed, connected, or programmed properly. If any of these conditions exists, the transmission will not automatically shift into Neutral when left in Drive with the parking brake engaged. The vehicle could move without warning increasing the risk of a crash. On certain vehicles equipped with a Caterpillar engine, the Variable Valve Actuation oil line \(VVA line\) used on 6 cylinder, 15L turbocharged and air\-to\-air aftercooled diesel engines may wear against the sharp edge of the cylinder head if not oriented correctly. Oil line wear may cause an oil leak and a potential fire hazard. Correction: Dealers will inspect and, if required, replace the VVA line. - [2005158](/recalls/tc/2005158.md), 2005-05-20: Suspension. On certain vehicles, the rear suspension sway bar could fail causing the rear axle to come loose. As a result, the driver may experience a loss of vehicle control which could cause a crash without warning, possibly resulting in property damage, personal injury or death. On certain vehicles, the rear suspension transverse beam castings were not made to specifications. If a casting were to break when the vehicle is in motion, parts could become projectiles with potential to cause property damage, personal injury or death. Also, the transverse beam may drop down low enough to contact the road surface causing sparks that could ignite a fire. On certain vehicles, burner tubes in the Webasto DBW 2010 Scholastic coolant heater may begin deteriorating at an accelerated rate and could fail. Burner tube failure could result in an increase in exhaust gas temperature which could ignite combustible material in or around the vehicle. On certain vehicles, the terminals on the Power Feed Harness P92\-1993 were not properly crimped. The defect could lead to intermittent power loss affecting the electrical system and possibly resulting in a fire.
