In the affected vehicles, the ignition key \(FOBIK\) may not return to the "ON" position after being rotated to the "START" position, instead sticking between the two positions. Potentially, while the vehicle is being driven, the ignition may inadvertently move through the "RUN" position to the "ACCESSORY" or "OFF" ignition position, turning off the engine. Built 2007\-04\-03 to 2008\-05\-12.
- [13V175000](/recalls/nhtsa/13V175000.md), 2013-05-07: ELECTRICAL SYSTEM; POWER TRAIN:TRANSFER CASE \(4\-WHEEL DRIVE\). - [08V059000](/recalls/nhtsa/08V059000.md), 2008-02-06: ELECTRICAL SYSTEM; VISIBILITY:WINDSHIELD WIPER/WASHER. CHRYSLER IS RECALLING 1,338 MY 2008 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE AND COMMANDER VEHICLES. THE FRONT CONTROL MODULE MAY HAVE BEEN INCORRECTLY MANUFACTURED.

- [2014404](/recalls/tc/2014404.md), 2014-09-18: Electrical. On certain vehicles, the ignition key may not fully return to the RUN position from the START position once the key is released after starting the vehicle. This could affect various vehicle electrical functions, and also cause an unintended change in ignition switch position, which could cause the engine to stall. This would result in a loss of motive power and affect functioning of the power steering and power braking assist systems as well as other safety systems including airbags. These issues could increase the risk of a crash causing injury and/or damage to property. Correction: Dealers will replace the Wireless Ignition Node \(WIN\) module \(i.e. ignition switch\) and FOBIKs \(keys\).
- [2013155](/recalls/tc/2013155.md), 2013-05-08: Powertrain. On certain vehicles equipped with a full\-time four\-wheel drive system, the transfer case controller could fail. This could cause the transfer case to shift into or through the neutral position, which may allow the vehicle to roll away, even with the transmission in the PARK position. Should the vehicle roll away, it could strike another vehicle, stationary object, or a bystander, causing property damage and/or personal injury. Correction: Dealers will reprogram the final drive controller with updated software.
- [2010273](/recalls/tc/2010273.md), 2010-08-12: Airbag. On certain vehicles that were not equipped with a factory sunroof, the supplemental side airbag inflatable curtain may not position properly during inflation. The side curtain airbag will still timely deploy and meet and exceed applicable safety standards. Correction: Dealers will install a bracket and foam block behind the "B" pillar upper trim cover to improve side curtain airbag positioning in the event of a deployment. This action is a Customer Satisfaction Campaign and is not being conducted as per the requirements of the Motor Vehicle Safety Act.
- [2008042](/recalls/tc/2008042.md), 2008-02-07: Engine. On certain vehicles, the front control module may have been manufactured incorrectly. This could cause the engine to stall while driving, or not to start, and/or cause the windshield wipers to become inoperative. Engine stalling would result in lost propulsion which, in conjunction with traffic and road conditions, and the driver's reactions, could increase the risk of a crash. Correction: Dealers will inspect the front control module and replace it if necessary.
- [2007299](/recalls/tc/2007299.md), 2007-09-12: Brakes. On certain vehicles, the front brake calipers were improperly manufactured and could break under certain operating conditions. This could increase the vehicle's stopping distance and cause a crash with injury or death. Correction: Dealers will inspect and, if required, replace the front brake calipers.
