- [21V139000](/recalls/nhtsa/21V139000.md), 2021-03-04: AIR BAGS:PASSENGER SIDE FRONTAL:CUSHION; AIR BAGS:FRONTAL. Nissan North America, Inc. \(INFINITI\) is recalling certain 2003 INFINITI FX35, 2006\-2008 FX35 and FX45 vehicles that previously received a replacement front passenger air bag assembly under recall number 20V\-008.  The air bag cushion was folded incorrectly, which could increase internal pressure and tear the air bag cushion during deployment.
- [20V008000](/recalls/nhtsa/20V008000.md), 2020-01-09: AIR BAGS:FRONTAL:PASSENGER SIDE:INFLATOR MODULE. Nissan North America, Inc. \(Nissan\) is recalling certain 2001\-2003 Maxima, 2002\-2006 Sentra, 2002\-2004 Pathfinder, 2007\-2011 Versa Sedan and Versa Hatchback, 2001\-2004 Infiniti I30 and I35, 2002\-2003 Inifiniti QX4, 2003\-2008 Infiniti FX35 and FX45 and 2006\-2010 M35 and M45 vehicles. The vehicles are equipped with non\-desiccated, frontal passenger air bag inflators containing phase stabilized ammonium nitrate \(PSAN\) propellant that were used as interim remedy parts for previous Takata recalls.  These inflators may explode due to propellant degradation occurring after long\-term exposure to high absolute humidity, high temperatures, and high temperature cycling.

Nissan North America, Inc. \(Nissan\) is recalling certain 2012 Nissan Versa hatchbacks originally sold, or ever registered, in Alabama, California, Florida, Georgia, Hawaii, Louisiana, Mississippi, South Carolina, Texas, Puerto Rico, American Samoa, Guam, the Northern Mariana Islands \(Saipan\) and the U.S. Virgin Islands, or "Zone A".    Additionally, if not included in "Zone A" above, Nissan is recalling certain 2009\-2010 Infiniti M35 and M45 and 2009 Nissan Versa sedans and hatchbacks originally sold, or ever registered, in Arizona, Arkansas, Delaware, the District of Columbia, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Maryland, Missouri, Nebraska, Nevada, New Jersey, New Mexico, North Carolina, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Virginia, and West Virginia, or "Zone B".    Additionally, if not included in "Zone A" or "Zone B" above, Nissan is recalling certain 2005\-2008 Infiniti FX35 and FX45, 2006\-2010 Infiniti M35 and M45, and 2007\-2008 Nissan Versa vehicles originally sold, or ever registered, in Alaska, Colorado, Connecticut, Idaho, Iowa, Maine, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Montana, New Hampshire, New York, North Dakota, Oregon, Rhode Island, South Dakota, Utah, Vermont, Washington, Wisconsin, and Wyoming.    These vehicles are equipped with certain air bag inflators assembled as part of the passenger frontal air bag modules used as original equipment or replacement equipment.  In the event of a crash necessitating deployment of the front air bags, these inflators may rupture due to propellant degradation occurring after long\-term exposure to absolute humidity and temperature cycling. These vehicles are equipped with certain air bag inflators assembled as part of the passenger frontal air bag modules, and used as original equipment or replacement equipment.  These inflators may rupture due to propellant degradation occurring after long\-term exposure to absolute humidity and temperature cycling. Built 2003\-05\-13 to 2008\-03\-03.

## Canada (Transport Canada), as of 2026-10-19

- [2021118](/recalls/tc/2021118.md), 2021-03-05: Airbag. Issue: On certain vehicles, an incorrect passenger\-front airbag may have been installed during the repair for Transport Canada recall 2017\-023. As a result, the airbag may not unfold properly when it deploys in a crash. This could cause the airbag to tear or not to inflate properly.  Safety Risk: An airbag that does not work properly could create an increased risk of injury in a crash.  Corrective Action: Infiniti will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your vehicle to an Infiniti dealer to inspect the passenger\-front airbag assembly. It will be replaced, if necessary.
- [2020003](/recalls/tc/2020003.md), 2020-01-10: Airbag. Issue: This recall is for certain vehicles that had an airbag inflator replaced as a part of an earlier recall campaign. This recall provides a final repair.  Long\-term exposure to high absolute humidity and temperature, combined with high temperature cycling, may eventually degrade the propellant contained in the passenger\-front airbag. This could cause the airbag to deploy with more force than normal. If the airbag inflator ruptures, fragments could be propelled toward vehicle occupants or cause damage to the airbag assembly, preventing its proper function.  Safety Risk: If the vehicle is involved in a crash requiring an airbag deployment, the airbag inflator could rupture and create a risk of injury.  Corrective Actions: Owners will be notified by mail and instructed to take their vehicle to a dealer to inspect the passenger\-front airbag inflator. The passenger\-front airbag module or inflator will be replaced as necessary. Note: The Canadian climate results in the propellant degrading slowly. This recall is being conducted as a precaution to address future risk. It is expected that all airbag inflators will be replaced before their function would be affected.
- [2017023](/recalls/tc/2017023.md), 2017-01-12: Airbag. On certain vehicles, long\-term exposure to high absolute humidity and temperature, combined with high temperature cycling, could eventually degrade the propellant contained in the passenger frontal airbag. This could cause the airbag to deploy with more force than normal. As a result, if the vehicle were involved in a collision that warrants airbag deployment, fragments could be propelled toward vehicle occupants, and the airbag assembly could be damaged, preventing proper function. These issues could increase the risk of injury. Correction: Dealers will replace the passenger frontal airbag inflator. Note: Canadian climate results in the propellant degrading slowly. The recall is being conducted as a precaution to address future risk, and is expected to replace airbag inflators before their function would be affected.
