Service bulletins for the 2016 Honda Pilot

A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

365 on file from NHTSA, as of 2026-10-19.

ATS-150901 V32021-05-15. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT:APPLIANCE:AIR CONDITIONER. Are you reading a DTC B121E (climate control unit lost communication with touch control panel) on the HDS and you can’t find anything in the service information to help you troubleshoot it? Just use the troubleshooting procedure for DTC U0180 (lost communication with auto L/T); it’s the one you want. DTC B121E was mistakenly assigned to this vehicle and really doesn’t apply. We’ll be revising the DTC U0180 troubleshooting procedure to include DTC B121E.
ATS-151101 V22021-05-14. Service bulletin. POWER TRAIN:AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION:CONTROL MODULE (TCM/PCM/TECM). Replacement TCMs don’t come with trim data. After installation, you need to run a teach-in (hydraulic pressure characteristic calibration) procedure with the HDS. The problem is that A/T DTC P287C (transmission adaptive values not learned) is set, which prevents teach-in. This happens because the TCM is programmed to look for trim data any time the ignition is cycled. If the TCM doesn’t see that trim data, it sets A/T DTC P287C. If any DTCs are set, the TCM won’t initiate teach-in and, as a result, can’t learn the trim data. It’s a classic catch-22 situation.

JW0-15-0742021-05-13. Service bulletin. FUEL SYSTEM, OTHER:STORAGE:FUEL GAUGE SYSTEM; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:SOFTWARE. During manufacturing, the gauge control module software installed did not meet specification and there are two potential issues: • The gauge control module adds mileage to the odometer when the OFF mode is selected (Touring and Elite only). • The gauge control module loses communication with the HDS or may not transfer the odometer mileage and maintenance minder information when replacing the gauge control module. There is one software update that will repair one or both of the issues affecting your vehicle.
