THE PROGRAM LOGIC FOR THE MOTOR ELECTRONIC CONTROL UNIT \(ECU\) CAN MISTAKENLY DETECT A FAILURE OF AN ELECTRICAL CURRENT SENSOR AT SPEEDS ABOVE 50 MPH.  IF THIS OCCURS, THE ECU QUICKLY REDUCES VEHICLE SPEED IN ORDER TO MAINTAIN PROPER FEEDBACK CONTROL.
