Service bulletins for the 2018 GMC Yukon
A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

| PIP5725 | 2020-06-15. Service bulletin. FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE. This Preliminary information communicates the use of Winter grade fuel during the warm months of 2020 and the potential rivability issues that it can cause. The ongoing Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic has caused significant reductions in driving and fuel use. Due to the surplus of winter grade fuel sitting in storage (pipelines/stations) the EPA is waiving the fuel vapor requirement. This will extend the use of winter fuel into the summer months. The drivability concerns should not be single events but should be multiple occurrences associated with hot days. |
| 20NA038 | 2020-03-30. Service bulletin. FUEL SYSTEM, DIESEL; ENGINE. This informational bulletin explains the difference in AFM and DFM engines and what is and is not activated during this occurrence. |

This bulletin provides information on the TOP TIER Detergent Gasoline Licensed Brands and the TOP TIER Diesel Fuel Licensed Brands that are recommended for use in all GM vehicles and the TOP TIER FUELS website URL. |
| PIP5286B | 2019-07-08. Service bulletin. FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE. This Preliminary Information communication provides information to the technician for a vehicle setting both a P2635 and P018B diagnostic trouble codes. The following steps may help to determine if this is caused by a fuel pressure sensor not reading the low end of the pressure range. Technician is to make sure the engine is cold and install the Multiple Diagnostic Interface along with Global Diagnostic System 2. Navigate to fuel system depressurize and at engine idle depressurize the fuel system. The fuel pressure sensor value should drop to 0 and the engine will stall. If a sensor is causing this concern the suspected sensor will not drop to 0 the engine will stall however the sensor will still read 30 to 40 pounds per square inch. |
| 050604022P | 2019-04-22. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT ADAPTIVE/MOBILITY; FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE; FUEL SYSTEM, DIESEL. This bulletin provides information on the TOP TIER Detergent Gasoline Licensed Brands and the TOP TIER Diesel Fuel Licensed Brands that are recommended for use in all GM vehicles and the TOP TIER FUELS website URL. |
| PIP5427B | 2019-04-08. Service bulletin. FUEL SYSTEM, OTHER:STORAGE:TANK ASSEMBLY:PRESSURE RELIEF DEVICES; ENGINE. This Preliminary Information communication provides information to the technician about vehicle that may have a Service Engine Soon Malfunction Indicator Lamp on. Technician may find Diagnostic Trouble Codes P2635, U0074 and or U18A2. Technician will need to follow published diagnostics for Diagnostic Trouble Codes U0074 would take priority over U18A2 if both set before addressing DTC P2635. |
| PIP5596 | 2018-11-13. Service bulletin. FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE; FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE:DELIVERY:HOSES, LINES/PIPING, AND FITTINGS; FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE:DELIVERY:FUEL PUMP. This Preliminary information communicates that when removing the fuel line jumper hose care should be taken to be sure the line is reinstalled correctly to avoid a no/low fuel pressure situation. |
| 050604022O | 2018-06-04. Service bulletin. FUEL SYSTEM, DIESEL; FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE. This informational bulletin provides information on the TOP TIER Detergent Gasoline Licensed Brands and the TOP TIER Diesel Fuel Licensed Brands that are recommended for use in all GM vehicles. |
| PIP5427A | 2018-05-21. Service bulletin. FUEL SYSTEM, OTHER:STORAGE:TANK ASSEMBLY:PRESSURE RELIEF DEVICES. |
| 16-NA-383 | 2018-05-21. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT; FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE:FUEL INJECTION SYSTEM:INJECTORS. This informational bulletin advises of a new fuel injection kit used for decarbonizing the intake valves, and explains how toptier fuels should be used to reduce carbon build up. |

This Preliminary Information communication provides information to the technician on the steps to diagnose and repair vehicles that have remote start is inoperative, power lift gate Regular Production Option Code (TB5) is inoperative with the ignition off, Crank no start, Start and Stall, and vehicles equipped with the diesel engine, the blower motor may stay on after the engine is turned off. Technician may find Diagnostic Trouble Code P2537 and/or P129Dset. Technician will need to Use a voltmeter and check circuit 5985 at the Engine Control Module and Transmission Control Module. If no or low voltage is found, use the wiring diagram in Service Information and perform normal circuit diagnosis. |
| PIP5179D | 2018-05-21. Service bulletin. ENGINE; FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE:FUEL INJECTION SYSTEM. This Preliminary Information communication provides information to the technician about vehicles that have extended or long crank time during cold ambient air temperatures. Direct Injection systems run at higher pressures, and the mechanical pump on the engine must build up the required pressure before the first injection event occurs. Direct Injection engines may have slightly longer cold crank times than that of port fuel engines. |

This Preliminary Information communication provides information to the technician on the steps to diagnose and repair vehicles that may have a no crank concern. Technician will need to check the valve train for movement when the engine is cranked. If the valve train is not moving while the crankshaft is moving the front cover will need to be removed to inspect for a sheared cam sprocket locator pin. If the cam sprocket locator pin has sheared, replace the engine assembly. If the valve train is rotating during inspection, disconnect the Camshaft Position sensor and check if the engine will start. If the engine starts front cover will need to be removed to inspect for a sheared cam sprocket locator pin. If the cam sprocket locator pin has sheared, replace the engine assembly. If the engine does not start with the Camshaft Position sensor disconnected the follow published “Engine Cranks But Does Not Run” diagnosis in Service Information. Also perform an Engine Compression Test and Cylinder Leakage Test in Service Information documents all results. If the Service Information procedures above isolate an engine mechanical concern then removed to inspect for a sheared cam sprocket locator pin. If the cam sprocket locator pin has sheared, replace the engine assembly. |
| PIP5308B | 2018-02-21. Service bulletin. FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE; ENGINE; EXTERIOR LIGHTING. This Preliminary Information communication provides information to the technician about vehicles with the Service Engine Soon Malfunction Indicator Lamp on. Technician should follow published Service Information diagnostics that will lead to an oil pump replacement. Technician should replace the oil pump. If debris is found, the main and rod bearings should be inspected before engine replacement is considered. |
