THE THRESHOLD WARNING SYSTEM MAY NOT DETECT THE PRESENCE OF A WHEELCHAIR OR MOBILITY AID USER IN A CERTAIN SPOT WITHIN THE DEFINED THRESHOLD AREA. Built 2005\-04\-01 to 2009\-06\-25.
- [08V340000](/recalls/nhtsa/08V340000.md), 2008-07-28: POWER TRAIN:TRANSFER CASE \(4\-WHEEL DRIVE\). GM IS RECALLING 151 MY 2008 CHEVROLET EXPRESS AND GMC SAVANA VEHICLES EQUIPPED WITH ALL WHEEL DRIVE \(AWD\). SOME OF THESE VEHICLES HAVE TRANSFER CASES THAT WERE MANUFACTURED WITH AN INCORRECT PART THAT CAN CAUSE EARLY FAILURE OF A DRIVE CHAIN. IF THE CHAIN BREAKS, SHIFTING THE TRANSMISSION TO PARK MAY NOT KEEP THE VEHICLE STATIONARY. Built 2008\-06\-01 to 2008\-07\-31.
- [08V315000](/recalls/nhtsa/08V315000.md), 2008-07-14: FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE:STORAGE. GM IS RECALLING 567 MY 2008 CHEVROLET EXPRESS AND GMC SAVANA CUTAWAY VEHICLES WITH A 139" WHEEL BASE. THE FRAME RAIL ON THE DRIVER'S SIDE MAY BE WIDER THAN SPECIFICATION.

GM IS RECALLING 2,481 MY 2008 CHEVROLET EXPRESS AND GMC SAVANA G\-CUTAWAY FLEET VAN EQUIPPED WITH A 6.0L \(RPO LY6\) V8 ENGINE, 4L80E \(RPO MT1\) TRANSMISSION, 4.10 \(RPO GT5\) AXLE AND 75 MPH GOVERNOR \(RPO 9D7\). THESE VEHICLES HAVE A CONDITION IN WHICH THE TRANSMISSION MAY BE DAMAGED DUE TO FIRST GEAR ENGAGEMENT AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS AND THEN DOES NOT TRANSMIT POWER WITH D4 OR R SELECTED. THIS MAY BE PRECEDED BY ENGINE SHUTDOWN IF THE VEHICLE EXCEEDS 81 MILES PER HOUR IN CERTAIN CONDITIONS. Built 2007\-08\-01 to 2008\-06\-30.

## Canada (Transport Canada), as of 2026-10-19

- [2023210](/recalls/tc/2023210.md), 2023-04-06: Electrical. Issue: On certain vehicles, an unused wiring harness for a rear HVAC blower motor, located in the left B\-pillar area, could become damaged if exposed to moisture or contaminants. If this happens, the wires could short circuit. Note: This recall only affects cutaway chassis incomplete vehicles. Safety Risk: A short circuit can create the risk of a fire. Corrective Actions: General Motors will notify owners by mail and instruct you to bring your vehicle to a dealership to seal the wiring for the rear HVAC blower motor at the left B\-pillar.
- [2008268](/recalls/tc/2008268.md), 2008-07-30: Powertrain. Certain All\-Wheel Drive \(AWD\) vehicles may have been assembled with an incorrectly manufactured transfer case that could cause early failure of drive chain. If the chain breaks, shifting the transmission to "Park" may not keep the vehicle stationary. If the vehicle is parked on an incline or bumped, it may roll and strike a person , an object or vehicle without warning and cause personal injury. Correction: Dealers will inspect the transfer case code and, if necessary, replace the transfer case.
- [2008249](/recalls/tc/2008249.md), 2008-07-14: Powertrain. On certain Cutaway vans, the transmission may self\-engage into first gear while the vehicle is traveling at highway speeds, thereby causing transmission damage to certain gears. Should this occur at speeds beyond 130 km/h, the engine may shut down \(and be able to be restarted with limited operating capability\). However, in some cases, the transmission will no longer function in any gear. This could cause the vehicle to lose propulsion which, in conjunction with traffic and road conditions, and the driver's reactions, could increase the risk of a crash. Correction: Dealers will reprogram the Transmission Control Module \(TCM\) and the Engine Control Module \(ECM\).
- [2008244](/recalls/tc/2008244.md), 2008-07-09: Structure. On certain cutaway vehicle with a 139" wheelbase, the frame rail on the driver's side may be wider than specification. As such, it may contact the fuel tank housing and, over time, cause a fuel leak. Fuel leakage, in the presence of an ignition source, could result in a vehicle fire, causing property damage, personal injury, or death. Correction: Dealers will inspect the clearance between the frame rail and the fuel tank housing. If clearance is not sufficient, dealers will rework the frame rail.
