## Canada (Transport Canada), as of 2026-10-19

- [2026428](/recalls/tc/2026428.md), 2026-09-09: Brakes. Issue: On a small number of trucks, the recall repairs completed by an DTNA service facility during recalls FL958 and FL966 \(Transport Canada recall nos. 2022\-626 and 2023\-051\) may not be effective. As a result, another repair is required. On certain trucks, a software problem may not detect corrosion to the brake modulator valves. As a result, the brakes on one wheel could fully apply during automatic braking. If this happens, there could be a brake pull that can cause the truck to change direction. Note: This problem doesn't affect the service brakes. Safety Risk: A brake pull that causes the vehicle to change direction suddenly can increase the risk of crash. Corrective Actions: Daimler Truck North America \(DTNA\) will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your truck to a DTNA authorized service facility to inspect, and if necessary, replace the brake modulator valves. The service facility will also update the vehicle software.
- [2024745](/recalls/tc/2024745.md), 2024-12-10: Visual System. Issue: On certain trucks, the windshield glass may not allow the amount of light required by the Canadian regulations. Safety Risk: This small error does not affect safety. Corrective Actions: This is not a recall. Daimler Truck North America has made changes to ensure that all new trucks have compliant windshields.
- [2023206](/recalls/tc/2023206.md), 2023-04-05: Steering. Issue: On certain trucks, the cotter pin may be missing from the tie rod castle nut on the front steer axle. As a result, the nut could loosen. If this happens, the tie rod could detach from the steering arm and cause a loss of steering control. Safety Risk: A loss of steering control could create the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: Daimler Truck North America \(DTNA\) will notify owners by mail. The corrective actions for this recall are under development.
- [2023060](/recalls/tc/2023060.md), 2023-02-14: Lights And Instruments. Issue: On certain trucks, the tail lamps do not turn on when the daytime running lamps \(DRLs\) are on. Canadian regulations require that, if a vehicle has dash backlighting, the low beam headlamps and tail lamps must automatically switch on when it is dark or the tail lamps must stay on at all times. Safety Risk: Driving without tail lamps in low light conditions could make the truck less visible and increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: Daimler Truck North America \(DTNA\) will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your truck to a DTNA authorized service facility to update the parameters for the lighting system. For Western Star 4700 ZODIAC models, the service facility will replace or modify the wiring harness.
- [2023051](/recalls/tc/2023051.md), 2023-02-10: Brakes. Issue: On certain trucks, the brake modulator valves could corrode. As a result, the brakes on one wheel could fully apply when the roll stability control system activates. If this happens, there could be a brake pull that can cause the truck to change direction. Note: This problem does not affect the service brakes. Safety Risk: A brake pull that causes the vehicle to change direction suddenly can increase the risk of crash. Corrective Actions: Daimler Truck North America \(DTNA\) will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your truck to a DTNA authorized service facility to inspect, and if necessary, replace the brake modulator valves.
- [2022626](/recalls/tc/2022626.md), 2022-11-01: Brakes. Issue: On certain trucks, the brake modulator valves could corrode. As a result, the brakes on one wheel could fully apply during an adaptive cruise control braking event. If this happens, there could be a brake pull that can cause the truck to change direction. Note: This problem does not affect the regular service brakes.
- [2022300](/recalls/tc/2022300.md), 2022-06-08: Steering. Issue: On certain trucks and walk\-in vans, the steering gear may not have been assembled correctly. As a result, the steering gear could break and cause a loss of steering. Safety Risk: A loss of steering control could create the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: Daimler Truck North America \(DTNA\) will contact owners by mail. The corrective actions for this recall are under development.
- [2021756](/recalls/tc/2021756.md), 2021-12-13: Fuel System. Issue: On certain trucks, the fuel tubes between the fuel rail and the injectors may crack and create a fuel leak. Note: This recall only affects trucks equipped with a Cummins X12 diesel engines. Safety Risk: A fuel leak can create the risk of a fire. Corrective Actions: Cummins will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your truck to a Cummins authorized service center to replace the fuel tubes for cylinders 4, 5 and 6 and install vibration isolators.
- [2021399](/recalls/tc/2021399.md), 2021-06-25: Electrical. Issue: On certain trucks built with aluminum battery cables, the terminal that attaches the battery cable to the frame may break. If this happens, there could be a loss of electrical power and the engine could shut off suddenly. Safety Risk: A loss of power while driving could increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: Daimler Trucks North America \(DTNA\) will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your truck to a DTNA authorized service facility to inspect the battery cables for corrosion and/or damage. They will be repaired or replaced with copper cables, as necessary.
- [2021304](/recalls/tc/2021304.md), 2021-05-19: Steering. Issue: On certain vehicles, the tie rod clamp may not have been properly tightened. As a result, the tie rod end could loosen and separate. If this happens, there could be a loss of steering control. Safety Risk: A loss of steering control could create the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: Daimler Trucks North America \(DTNA\) will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your vehicle to a DTNA authorized service facility to replace the tie rod clamp nuts and bolts.
- [2021219](/recalls/tc/2021219.md), 2021-04-12: Steering. Issue: On certain trucks, the tie rod arm and steering arm bolts may be defective and could break. If this happens, there could be a loss of steering control. Note: This recall only affects trucks built with a Detroit front axle. Safety Risk: A loss of steering control could create the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: Daimler Trucks North America \(DTNA\) will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your truck to a DTNA authorized service facility to replace the tie rod arm bolts and the steering arm bolts.
- [2021007](/recalls/tc/2021007.md), 2021-01-13: Tires. Issue: On certain trucks, the tread on the steer axle tires could separate while driving. If this happens, the tire could fail and suddenly lose air pressure. Note: This recall only affects trucks equipped with a specific air dam and certain Bridgestone R284, R268, or R283S ECOPIA tires. Safety Risk: A tire failure could cause a loss of control and increase the risk of a crash Corrective Actions: Daimler Trucks North America \(DTNA\) will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your truck to a DTNA authorized service facility to replace the steer tires, as necessary. DTNA recommends that drivers should pay special attention to tire inflation, loading and make extra inspections of the tire tread and sidewall before and after each trip.
