Daimler Trucks North America, LLC \(DTNA\) is recalling certain 2020\-2026 Western Star 49X, Freightliner Business Class M2, Freightliner 114SD, Freightliner 108SD, 2021\-2026 Western Star 47X, 2021\-2023 Freightliner 122SD, 2022 Western Star 48X, and 2023 Western Star 4700 vehicles. The axle clamp fasteners may be loose, which can result in a loss of vehicle control.
- [24V668000](/recalls/nhtsa/24V668000.md), 2024-09-10: FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: AUTOMATIC EMERGENCY BRAKING; EXTERIOR LIGHTING:BRAKE LIGHTS. Daimler Trucks North America, LLC \(DTNA\) is recalling certain 2024\-2025 Freightliner 108SD, 2022\-2025 Freightliner 114SD, Freightliner Business Class M2, 2025 Freightliner eM2, 2020\-2025 Western Star 49X, 2021\-2025 Western Star 47X, and 2022\-2025 Western Star 57X vehicles that may be upfitted with a body lighting interface controller and replacement brake lights.  The brake lights may not illuminate when the brakes are automatically applied during an active brake assist \(ABA\) event. Built 2023\-11\-07 to 2024\-07\-12.
- [23V737000](/recalls/nhtsa/23V737000.md), 2023-11-02: ENGINE. Daimler Trucks North America, LLC \(DTNA\) is recalling certain 2024 Freightliner M2 and 114SD vehicles equipped with Cummins L9N engines.  The rear lifting bracket that attaches to the engine cylinder head may be insufficiently secured, which can allow it to detach.

## Canada (Transport Canada), as of 2026-10-19

- [2025610](/recalls/tc/2025610.md), 2025-11-04: Suspension. Issue: On certain trucks, the fasteners for the axle clamp\(s\) may not have been tightened properly. As a result, the clamps could loosen. If this happens, the axle could move and cause a loss of steering control. Note: This recall only affects certain trucks equipped with a TufTrac Gen 2 suspension.  Safety Risk: A loss of steering control could create the risk of a crash.  Corrective Actions: Daimler Truck North America \(DTNA\) will notify the owners by mail and advise you to take your truck to a DTNA authorized service facility to inspect and tighten the axle clamp fasteners. The axle clamp castings will be replaced, as necessary.
- [2024510](/recalls/tc/2024510.md), 2024-09-10: Lights And Instruments. Issue: On certain trucks, a software problem could cause the brake lights not to work when the brakes are automatically applied during emergency braking.  Safety Risk: Brake lights that don't work could cause others not to recognize when a vehicle is braking. This could increase the risk of a crash.  Corrective Actions: Daimler Truck North America \(DTNA\) will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your truck to a DTNA authorized service facility to update the active brake assist \(ABA\) software.
- [2024210](/recalls/tc/2024210.md), 2024-04-03: Wheels. Problem: On certain trucks, the inner flange of the steer axle wheels may crack. As a result, a piece of the flange could separate from the wheel. Note: This special warranty program only affects ULA18xxx wheels with a size of 22.5" x 8.25". UPDATE \- When Daimler Truck North America \(DTNA\) notified Transport Canada about this problem, they believed that it may cause a rapid air loss of a tire. After further investigation, DTNA has determined that this problem would not result in a rapid air loss. Accordingly, this safety recall was withdrawn.  Safety Risk: This problem does not pose a safety risk.  Corrective Actions: This is not a recall and will be addressed under a special warranty program offered by Alcoa, the wheel supplier. This notice is for information only and is not being conducted under the requirements of the Motor Vehicle Safety Act. If you notice any cracks on the inner flange of the steer axle wheels, you should contact Alcoa at 1\-800\-242\-9898.
