## United States (NHTSA), as of 2026-10-19

- [16V206000](/recalls/nhtsa/16V206000.md), 2016-04-12: SERVICE BRAKES, AIR:DISC:CALIPER. Daimler Trucks North America LLC \(DTNA\) is recalling certain model year 2010\-2017 Freightliner M2 Business Class, 108SD, 114SD, and Columbia trucks manufactured from January 6, 2010, through February 29, 2016, equipped with certain Bendix rear disk brakes and spring suspensions. The rear disk brake caliper may have been installed incorrectly, thus allowing the caliper to contact the suspension. Built 2010\-01\-06 to 2016\-02\-29.
- [15V343000](/recalls/nhtsa/15V343000.md), 2015-06-03: ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING:ENGINE. Daimler Trucks North America LLC \(DTNA\) is recalling certain model year 2007\-2016 Freightliner 114SD and M2 Business Class trucks, 2008\-2009 Sterling LT8500 trucks and Thomas Built Bus Saf\-T\-Liner HDX transit buses equipped with certain Cummins Westport ISL G engines. Excessive engine crankcase pressures may cause the 90\-degree elbow of the vent tube assembly to detach from the crankcase ventilation breather, possibly allowing engine oil to come into contact with hot surfaces. Built 2008\-01\-21 to 2015\-04\-17.
- [14V080000](/recalls/nhtsa/14V080000.md), 2014-02-21: ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING:ENGINE. Daimler Trucks North America LLC \(Daimler\) is recalling certain model year 2008\-2015 Freightliner 114SD, Cascadia, M2 Business Class, Sterling LT8500, and Thomas Built Buses Saf\-T\-Liner HDX vehicles manufactured February 19, 2008, through February 11, 2014, and equipped with Cummins Westport Model ISL G and Cummins Westport Model ISX12 G engines. Condensation in the intake manifold may freeze during cold weather conditions and interfere with the proper operation of the intake manifold pressure sensor. Built 2008\-02\-19 to 2014\-02\-11.
- [12V405000](/recalls/nhtsa/12V405000.md), 2012-08-16: EQUIPMENT. Daimler Trucks North America \(DTNA\) is recalling certain model year 2009\-2012 Freightliner, Sterling, and Western Star vehicles manufactured from July 7, 2008, through December 15, 2011, and equipped with perpendicular air tank mounting brackets. The air tank mounting brackets may develop cracks which can lead to the air tank brackets separating from the frame rail. The air tanks may also separate from the vehicle. Built 2008\-07\-07 to 2011\-12\-15.

## Canada (Transport Canada), as of 2026-10-19

- [2021706](/recalls/tc/2021706.md), 2021-11-17: Tires. Issue: Certain trucks were built with tires that are not approved for use with the truck's wheels. As a result, the tires may not perform properly, or a tire could fail. Safety Risk: A tire failure could cause a loss of control and increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: Daimler Trucks North America \(DTNA\) will notify owners by mail. The corrective actions for this recall are under development. You will be instructed to bring your truck to a DTNA authorized service facility when a repair is available.
- [2019336](/recalls/tc/2019336.md), 2019-07-04: Lights And Instruments. Issue: On certain trucks equipped with electronic stability control \(ESC\), the brake lights may turn on when the automatic traction control \(ATC\) activates. Canadian regulations do not allow brake lights to turn on when the automatic traction control activates. Safety Risk: Brake lights that turn on when a vehicle is not slowing could confuse other drivers. Corrective Actions: The company will notify owners by mail and instruct them to take their truck to a Daimler Trucks North America authorized service facility. The truck will either be reprogrammed or retrofitted so the brake lights do not turn on when the automatic traction control \(ATC\) activates.
- [2019237](/recalls/tc/2019237.md), 2019-05-17: Brakes. Issue: Certain trucks were built with air reservoir tanks that are too small in relation to the size of the air brake chambers. Canadian regulations require enough air reservoir capacity to ensure the brakes work even with heavy use or when there is a partial loss of the air system. Safety Risk: Reduced braking could cause extended stopping distances and increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: The company will notify owners by mail and instruct them to take their truck to a Daimler Trucks North America authorized service facility to modify the truck to ensure it meets Canadian regulations.
- [2015336](/recalls/tc/2015336.md), 2015-07-24: Engine. On certain vehicles equipped with Cummins Westport ISL\-G engines, excessive engine crankcase pressure could cause the vent tube assembly molded rubber adapter to detach from the breather. This could allow engine oil to come in contact with hot surfaces, increasing the risk of fire resulting in injury and/or damage to property. Correction: Dealers will install clamps at both ends of the adapter of the breather tube assembly and reprogram the Electronic Control Module \(ECM\) to improve diagnostic capabilities.
- [2014050](/recalls/tc/2014050.md), 2014-02-21: Engine. On certain vehicles equipped with Cummins ISL G or ISX12 G engines, incorrect engine ECU programming could cause the exhaust system temperature to become elevated during cold weather operation. This could also cause flames to be emitted from the exhaust. As a result, nearby combustible material could be ignited, increasing the risk of a fire, injury and/or damage to property. Correction: Authorized Cummins service facilities will update software programming.
- [2012281](/recalls/tc/2012281.md), 2012-08-15: Brakes. On certain trucks, the air tank mounting brackets may crack, which could allow the tank to detach from the vehicle. An air tank separating from the vehicle could strike another vehicle, a stationary object, or a bystander. As well, loss of an air tank would cause a loss of service brakes, which could increase stopping distances, possibly causing a crash. These issues could result in property damage and/or personal injury. Correction: Dealers will replace the air tank mounting brackets.
- [2012080](/recalls/tc/2012080.md), 2012-02-27: Fuel System. On certain trucks equipped with a Detroit Diesel DD13, DD15 or DD16 engine, the support system for the high pressure fuel line \(between the fuel pump and the fuel delivery rail\) may be damaged during a service repair procedure. Incorrect torque applied to the dampener "P" clip fasteners may damage the fasteners, which could allow the clips to loosen. This could result in a cracked fuel line and a diesel fuel leak. Diesel fuel leakage may ignite on a hot engine surface and cause a fire. As well, diesel fuel spilt on the roadway could endanger other road users by making the roadway unexpectedly slippery. These issues could result in property damage and/or personal injury. Correction: Dealers will replace the high pressure fuel line and install a more robust fuel line support system.
