# Service bulletins for the 2015 Ford Transit

A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

203 bulletins from NHTSA, as of 2026-10-19.

- [SSM 55098](/bulletins/11036338.md), 2026-08-25, Service bulletin: UNKNOWN OR OTHER; POWER TRAIN; ENGINE. Some 2013\-2016 Super Duty vehicles equipped with a 6.7L diesel engine and 2015\-2019 Transit vehicles equipped with a 3.2L diesel engine may not pass a state smog test due to the exhaust gas system \(EGS\) monitor that will not run after completing the exhaust gas sensor drive cycle located within Section 2 of the Powertrain Control/Emissions Diagnostics \(PC/ED\) Manual \> Drive Cycles. This may be due to the vehicles diesel oxidation catalyst \(DOC\) age counter being under the 120\-minute age requirement. There is an all\-new "PCM Catalytic Converter Age Evaluation" application within the latest version of the Ford Diagnosis and Repair System \(FDRS\). Use this new FDRS application to determine the age \(in minutes\) of the DOC. If the age is less than 120 minutes, perform manual regenerations to increase the catalyst age counter to satisfy the monitor age requirement. If further assistance is needed, contact the technical assistance center \(TAC\). Note: this article only applies to the EGS monitor. Problems with other vehicle monitors not running successfully must be addressed using normal diagnostics located i

For 2015\-2024 Ford and Lincoln vehicles equipped with turbocharged engines and customer concern of an engine oil leak, refer to Workshop Manual \(WSM\), Section 303\-00 for oil leak inspection and testing methods. Ford has evaluated turbochargers replaced for oil leak symptoms and although oil may collect on the external surface of a turbocharger, it is extremely rare for a turbocharger assembly to be the root cause of the oil leak. Careful inspection of the turbocharger oil feed and drain tubes should be performed along with the recommended WSM procedures as needed. Warranty claims for turbocharger replacement going forward will be assessed.
- [SSM 52314](/bulletins/10251934.md), 2024-03-20, Service bulletin: POWER TRAIN. During service and repair requiring removal and replacement of a crankshaft bolt and/or crankshaft damper, achieving proper torque of the crankshaft pulley bolt is critical. Incorrect torque may allow the bolt to loosen resulting in the timing gear breaking and engine damage. Replacement of the bolt is critical to the repair and accurately following the installation procedure in the Workshop Manual \(WSM\) Section, 303\-01 is extremely important. The bolt torque procedure can be found in the crankshaft front seal removal and installation procedure or in the engine assembly procedure.

The JDDAB feature code description, found under OASIS additional information, is common between single rear wheel and DRW vehicles, and incorrectly reflects stop functionality when applied to DRW units.
- [TSB 22\-2321](/bulletins/10218620.md), 2022-08-23, Service bulletin: STRUCTURE:BODY:DOOR; EQUIPMENT. Some 2015\-2022 Transit vehicles may experience a snap, click and/or pop noise from the door check when opening/closing the front door\(s\). This may be due to a cracked/broken door check and/or fastener. To correct the condition, follow the Service Procedure to inspect/replace the front door check and/or fastener.
- [SSM 51033](/bulletins/10218606.md), 2022-08-22, Service bulletin: ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING. Some 2015 Transit vehicles equipped with a 3.2L Duratorq\-TDCi engine built on or after 06\-Mar\-2015 may set diagnostic trouble code \(DTC\) P2539 during a KOEO self\-test. This DTC sets when the powertrain control module \(PCM\) does not detect a change in the fuel delivery pressure switch after engine shutdown. If DTC P2539 is not present after performing a key on engine running \(KOER\) self\-test, there is no illuminated malfunction indicator lamp \(MIL\) while the engine is running, no drivability concerns, and no other DTCs, then P2539 should be ignored. No further service action is required.
- [TSB 22\-2271](/bulletins/10215619.md), 2022-07-11, Service bulletin: POWER TRAIN. This article supersedes TSB 22\-2175 to update the Issue, Action, and Service Procedure. Some 2015\-2022 Transit vehicles equipped with rear wheel drive \(RWD\), single rear wheel \(only\), and U\-joints at the transmission flange and rear driveshaft may experience a boom/hum/moan noise from the rear while driving. Some 2015\-2022 Transit vehicles may exhibit front seat safety belts that do not extend or retract properly or may exhibit an abnormal noise. Verify if the vehicle has been modified, in particular if a bulkhead partition between the front seats and cargo area has been added to the vehicle. Fasteners or holes in the lower b\-pillar are indicators that the seat belt retractor mechanism could have been compromised. If diagnostics lead to retractor replacement, inspect for drill or screw holes in the retractor housing. Damage to the seat belt retractor caused by a vehicle modifier is not warrantable.
- [SSM 50804](/bulletins/10212957.md), 2022-06-01, Service bulletin: ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. Some 2013\-2023 Ford or Lincoln vehicles with modems activated through FordPass or LincolnWay may experience 12 volt battery drain symptoms when the customer uses non\-Ford/Lincoln phone applications as an alternate channel to access vehicle commands such as door lock/unlock, remote start, vehicle location, etc. The battery drain may be caused by excessive calls for data through the vehicle network keeping it in an activated state. Recommend that the customer uninstall the app to ensure this is not contributing to battery symptoms experienced. Advise the customer that unaffiliated third\-party app developers do not work directly with Ford to adhere to security, vehicle communication, and privacy requirements.
