# Service bulletins for the 2013 Ford Fusion

A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

229 bulletins from NHTSA, as of 2026-10-19.

Ford and Lincoln vehicles equipped with wired keyless entry keypad systems and accessory wireless keyless entry keypad systems may or may not come with a wallet card containing the master code. Unlike the integrated wired keypad, the accessory wireless keypad master code cannot be retrieved from the vehicle using a diagnostic scan tool or from the label printed on the body control module \(BCM\). The Factory Keyless Entry Code application within the diagnostic scan tool will not provide an applicable master code for the accessory wireless keypad. If the wallet card for an accessory keypad is not available, the "Wireless RF Keypad Diagnosis Guide" can be referenced and provides direction on how to retrieve the master code. This guide is located under the Workshop Manual tab \> Accessories \> Installation \> Wireless RF Keypad Diagnosis Guide \> PPT C \> Step C2.\<br /\>\<br /\> Note: The only available keypad for some vehicles from the assembly plant is the accessory wireless keyless entry keypad. The integrated wired keypad cannot be installed on vehicles not equipped from the factory with a wired keyless entry k

- [SSM 52476](/bulletins/10254138.md), 2024-05-03, Service bulletin: EQUIPMENT. All accessory stick\-on keyless entry keypads come with a wallet card containing the master code. If the accessory keypad was factory installed, this card will be placed in the glove box and should be handed to the vehicles owner during initial delivery. Unlike the integrated \(wired\) factory keypad, the accessory keypad master code cannot be retrieved from the vehicle using a diagnostic scan tool. If the wallet card for an accessory keypad is lost, follow these steps to recover the code. Dealer Key Code access is granted through the Dealer Program Enrollment System \(DPES\); dealership management can authorize users. The authorized user must go to FMCDealer.com \> Parts and Service \> Parts Product Line Information \> Keys/Entry Devices \> Aftermarket Keyless Entry Keypad Code Access. - [SSM 51536](/bulletins/10235153.md), 2023-05-04, Service bulletin: STRUCTURE. For 2000\-2024 Ford and Lincoln vehicles, swapping a module from a vehicle for diagnosis purposes is likely to cause errors and is not recommended. It is also not recommended to order a replacement module using a vehicle identification number \(VIN\) from a different vehicle. Most modules on these affected vehicles are VIN/vehicle specific and hardware variations between modules do exist. Swapping a module from a vehicle or ordering a module using a different vehicle/VIN can cause ineffective repairs and additional vehicle down time. Make sure all appropriate Workshop Manual \(WSM\) procedures are followed when diagnosing the condition prior to all module replacements and only order modules using the correct VIN.
- [SSM 51261](/bulletins/10228876.md), 2023-01-06, Service bulletin: SERVICE BRAKES. Some Ford and Lincoln vehicles may exhibit noise when the brakes are applied. When diagnosing and repairing brake noise conditions, use the Workshop Manual \(WSM\) and the appropriate pinpoint test in section 206\-00. The brake rotors should only be machined if directed by the WSM because one or more of the following conditions are present on the braking surface: scoring, excessive corrosion/rust or pitting, bluing/discoloration and/or heat spots. For additional information, refer to WSM section 206\-00.
- [SSM 51181](/bulletins/10226752.md), 2022-11-29, Service bulletin: SERVICE BRAKES. Some 2013\-2016 Escape/Fusion/MKZ vehicles may display an error message when updating the All Wheel Drive\-ATC Barcode using the IDS service function after installing a new rear drive unit assembly \(RDU\) or active torque coupling \(ATC\) clutch assembly. To prevent this error from occurring, enter the universal ATC 4 digit barcode 7772. Once programmed, perform several figure 8 turns at parking lot speeds to verify there is no binding from the all wheel drive \(AWD\) system. If the vehicle binds in a turn, perform Pinpoint Test A. Refer to the Workshop Manual \(WSM\), Section 308\-07A \> Diagnosis and Testing.
- [TSB 22\-2396](/bulletins/10225458.md), 2022-11-01, Service bulletin: POWER TRAIN. Some 2013\-2020 Fusion, MKZ and 2013\-2018 C\-Max vehicles equipped with an HF35 transmission may exhibit a thumping/rubbing or grinding noise coming from the transmission. The noise may be present in all gear ranges including neutral when the vehicle is moving but will not be present when the vehicle is stationary or in park.
- [SSM 51120](/bulletins/10222788.md), 2022-10-11, Service bulletin: SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC. No Authorization Pop\-up will be displayed on the center display screen during the Authorization process. The vehicle may also not have proper functionality of remote app features such as remote start, return odometer, fuel information, or vehicle location incorrect in the app. This may be due to the SYNC software. To correct the condition, follow the Service Procedure to toggle Valet Mode.
- [TSB 22\-2230](/bulletins/10214758.md), 2022-06-27, Service bulletin: ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:PROPULSION SYSTEM:HYBRID MANAGEMENT:POWER CONTROL UNIT/MODULE \(HPCU\):SOFTWARE; UNKNOWN OR OTHER. To correct the condition, follow the Service Procedure to toggle Valet Mode.
- [SSM 50804](/bulletins/10212957.md), 2022-06-01, Service bulletin: ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. Some 2013\-2023 Ford or Lincoln vehicles with modems activated through FordPass or LincolnWay may experience 12 volt battery drain symptoms when the customer uses non\-Ford/Lincoln phone applications as an alternate channel to access vehicle commands such as door lock/unlock, remote start, vehicle location, etc. The battery drain may be caused by excessive calls for data through the vehicle network keeping it in an activated state. Recommend that the customer uninstall the app to ensure this is not contributing to battery symptoms experienced. Advise the customer that unaffiliated third\-party app developers do not work directly with Ford to adhere to security, vehicle communication, and privacy requirements.
- [SSM 50744](/bulletins/10211728.md), 2022-05-14, Service bulletin: POWER TRAIN. Some 2013\-2018 C\-Max, 2013\-2020 Fusion/MKZ, 2020\-2022 Escape, 2021\-2022 Corsair, 2022 Maverick vehicles equipped with HF35/HF45 hybrid transmissions can now be disassembled to repair and clean any contamination that may have been the result of a differential or transfer shaft bearing failure and the transmission can be overhauled/rebuilt. Service tools and service parts are now available. Refer to the Workshop Manual, Section 307\-01.
- [TSB 22\-2066](/bulletins/10210730.md), 2022-05-02, Service bulletin: POWER TRAIN. This may be due to the bushing at the transmission end of the shifter lever cable resulting in a mismatch of cluster and selected gear position. To correct the condition, follow the Service Procedure steps to replace the bushing and on certain vehicles install the protective cap over the selector at the transmission end of the selector lever cable.
