Service bulletins for the 2026 Ford Explorer

A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

SSM 545482026-02-12. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM; POWER TRAIN. Some 2025-2026 Explorer vehicles equipped with a 2.3L EcoBoost engine built on or after 16-Aug-2025 may exhibit an illuminated malfunction indicator lamp (MIL) with diagnostic trouble code (DTC) P0335 stored in the powertrain control module (PCM). DTC P033F may also be stored in the PCM. This may be due to a pin fit concern at PCM connector C1381E pin 7. To correct this condition, install a new terminal in wiring harness connector C1381E pin 7 (GN/BN) using terminal repair kit DU2Z-14474-CA. Refer to Wiring Diagram, Cell 5 for wiring repair information. For claiming use causal part 12A581 and labor operations 12650D and 12650D45WR.
SSM 545182026-01-27. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM; UNKNOWN OR OTHER. Some 2024-2026 Nautilus, 2025-2026 Explorer/Aviator and 2025 Expedition/Navigator vehicles may exhibit a concern where during an inbound phone call using CarPlay®, the person in the vehicle cannot be heard. This may be due to the software in the accessory protocol interface module (APIM). Replacement or reprogramming of the APIM will not resolve this condition. Inform customers that engineering is currently working on a software solution for this condition and will be released via a software update delivered over-the-air (OTA) expected by April 2026. The software will update automatically if vehicle connectivity is enabled in the vehicle settings. Schedule a service visit for customers who have disabled vehicle connectivity or who report that they did not receive the update by May 2026. Monitor Professional Technician System (PTS) for additional information.
SSM 545162026-01-27. Service bulletin. STRUCTURE:BODY. 2020-2026 Police Interceptor Utility vehicles may require level III ballistic panels to be replaced due to broken mounting tabs. Individual level III ballistic panel mounting tab service parts are now available: right-hand (78201B68) and left-hand (78201B69). Replacement of the level III ballistic panel assembly is not required for this condition. Level IV ballistic panels do not have removable mounting tabs and still require complete panel replacement. Level III vs level IV ballistic panels can be identified by a large roman numeral label on the panel or by the vehicle window sticker if equipped.
SSM 545022026-01-21. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM; UNKNOWN OR OTHER. Some 2025-2026 Expedition/Navigator/Explorer/Aviator and 2024-2026 Nautilus vehicles equipped with the Google Maps Navigation System (minor feature code HKCGA) may experience a blank screen for Google Maps or the absence of live traffic data. To correct this condition, refer to the Workshop Manual (WSM), Section 415-00 > Diagnosis and Testing > Information and Entertainment System. The WSM has been updated with improved diagnostics for this condition. To confirm whether a vehicle is built with a specific minor feature code, review the build information by double-clicking the vehicle identification number (VIN) in the upper left corner of the Professional Technician System (PTS).
