Service bulletins for the 2026 Ford Expedition

A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

SSM 545922026-02-27. Service bulletin. POWER TRAIN. For 20172026 vehicles equipped with a 10R transmission, a revision to the Road Testing Vehicle procedure has been made in the WSM, located in Section 307-01 > Diagnosis and Testing. This updated procedure improves the diagnosis of customer reported transmission concerns and aids in locating the proper root cause. During diagnosis and testing, details regarding whether the condition is more prevalent when the vehicle is hot or cold, throttle percentage at the time of occurrence, vehicle speed, the specific shift involved, and whether the issue occurs during transmission engagements (N>R, N>D, R>D, or D>R) should be noted. Engineering requests including these detailed operating conditions that will significantly assist with root cause analysis. Diagnosis, testing, and repair should use established labor times outside this article.
SSM 546012026-02-27. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM; STRUCTURE:BODY; UNKNOWN OR OTHER. Ford and Lincoln vehicles equipped with wired keyless entry keypad systems and accessory wireless keyless entry keypad systems may or may not come with a wallet card containing the master code. Unlike the integrated wired keypad, the accessory wireless keypad master code cannot be retrieved from the vehicle using a diagnostic scan tool or from the label printed on the body control module (BCM). The Factory Keyless Entry Code application within the diagnostic scan tool will not provide an applicable master code for the accessory wireless keypad. If the wallet card for an accessory keypad is not available, the "Wireless RF Keypad Diagnosis Guide" can be referenced and provides direction on how to retrieve the master code. This guide is located under the Workshop Manual tab > Accessories > Installation > Wireless RF Keypad Diagnosis Guide > PPT C > Step C2.<br /><br /> Note: The only available keypad for some vehicles from the assembly plant is the accessory wireless keyless entry keypad. The integrated wired keypad cannot be installed on vehicles not equipped from the factory with a wired keyless entry k
SSM 545802026-02-17. Service bulletin. UNKNOWN OR OTHER; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. Some 2025-2026 Expedition and 2026 Explorer vehicles equipped with the Google Maps Navigation System (minor feature code HKCGA) may experience a blank/white Google map screen, inoperative live traffic data, inoperative voice assistant, the inability to sign into a Google account in the center touch screen, unable to access the Google Play Store in the center display screen, and/or the inability to connect to other apps in the center display screen. This may be due to the vehicles Ford Connectivity Package not being activated. To verify if the vehicle has an active Connectivity Package (free or paid) enter the vehicle identification number (VIN) in Professional Technician System (PTS) then navigate to the upper blue tab titled Connected Vehicle > Vehicle Software Subscriptions. It will clearly state if the vehicle has a trial or paid subscription, along with the expiration date. These vehicles will come with one of two connectivity options from the factory.<br /><br /> *A free Connectivity Package trial that lasts for 1-year (identified as minor feature code N01AB). A credit card is required to enable
SSM 545792026-02-17. Service bulletin. STRUCTURE:BODY. 2025-2026 Expedition XL vehicles that are equipped as a Special Service Vehicle (SSV) (minor feature code TDAGZ) will not open or close the power liftgate/tailgate by pressing the button on the key fob. Additionally, these vehicles may exhibit a symptom where the horn does not sound when the key fob lock button is pressed. Expedition XL vehicles equipped as a SSV have the rear liftgate/tailgate power open/close feature omitted from being operated via the key fob. Pressing the key fob liftgate/tailgate button only locks/unlocks the rear cargo area. The power lift feature will power open/close if the button is pressed on the gate within 45 seconds of pressing the key fob. This functionality cannot be modified and no repairs should be attempted. The Workshop Manual (WSM) has been updated. Refer to WSM, Section 501-03 > Description and Operation > Body Closures System Operation and Component Description and scroll to the section titled Power Liftgate - SSV (Special Service Vehicle) Operation. The Digital Owner's Manual is in process of being updated.
SSM 545582026-02-12. Service bulletin. VISIBILITY/WIPER; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. Some 2025-2026 Expedition/Navigator vehicles equipped with one-touch up/down front windows may exhibit a condition where a front window does not respond to one-touch controls, does not open all the way and/or bounces back when using the one-touch close function. Replacement or reprogramming of the DDM and/or PDM and/or any other components is unlikely to resolve this condition. One-touch open and close function may be restored by resetting the anti-pinch feature described in the Digital Owner's Manual > Windows > Window Bounce-Back > Overriding Window Bounce-Back. The symptom may return after a successful reset of the anti-pinch feature. Show the customer where they can find this reset procedure in the Digital Owners Manual (Windows > Window Bounce-Back > Overriding Window Bounce-Back) so that they can have the option to perform the reset procedure on their own should the symptom return while waiting for the new software to become available. Inform customers that engineering is currently working on a solution for this condition which will be released via a software update delivered over-the-air (OTA) e
SSM 545022026-01-21. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM; UNKNOWN OR OTHER. Some 2025-2026 Expedition/Navigator/Explorer/Aviator and 2024-2026 Nautilus vehicles equipped with the Google Maps Navigation System (minor feature code HKCGA) may experience a blank screen for Google Maps or the absence of live traffic data. To correct this condition, refer to the Workshop Manual (WSM), Section 415-00 > Diagnosis and Testing > Information and Entertainment System. The WSM has been updated with improved diagnostics for this condition. To confirm whether a vehicle is built with a specific minor feature code, review the build information by double-clicking the vehicle identification number (VIN) in the upper left corner of the Professional Technician System (PTS).
SSM 544462026-01-06. Service bulletin. STEERING. Some 2025-2026 Expedition vehicles may exhibit a left turn signal that activates after the right turn signal is activated and the steering wheel is turned to the right, then immediately back to the left (past the center position). The left turn signal will deactivate once the steering wheel returns to center. This may be due to the multifunction switch. Replacing components will not resolve this issue. Inform the customer that Ford is aware of the concern and engineering is currently working on a solution for this condition that is expected to be announced by March 2026. This concern does not affect vehicle durability and the customer can continue to drive the vehicle. Monitor Professional Technician System (PTS) for additional information and schedule a service appointment for the customer once the repair becomes available.

The summaries are NHTSA's. Each bulletin's page links NHTSA's copy of the manufacturer's document.
