THE DEFECT INVOLVES THE HYDRAULIC HOSES FOR THE CONVERTIBLE TOP THAT ARE LOCATED INSIDE OF THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT. THE HEAT FROM THE ENGINE MAY CAUSE HAIR\-LINE CRACKS TO FORM IN THE HOSES WHICH MAY RESULT IN FLUID LEAKAGE FROM THE CONVERTIBLE TOP HYDRAULIC SYSTEM.

ON CERTAIN COUPE AND SPIDER VEHICLES EQUIPPED WITH MANUAL SIX\-SPEED TRANSMISSION, THERE IS A NON\-CONFORMING RIGHT\-ANGLE UNION IN THE CLUTCH PUMP.  THIS COULD CAUSE A HAIR\-LINE CRACK TO FORM UNDER NORMAL CONDITIONS DUE TO HEAT, WHICH COULD RESULT IN FLUID LEAKAGE FROM THE BRAKING/CLUTCH HYDRAULIC SYSTEM.

- [2009048](/recalls/tc/2009048.md), 2009-02-16: Other. On certain vehicles, heat generated by the engine could cause hairline cracks in the hydraulic lines of the convertible roof.  This could cause hydraulic fluid leakage into the engine compartment, resulting in smoke and/or a vehicle fire.  Correction: Dealers will install protective heat shields.
- [2006365](/recalls/tc/2006365.md), 2006-12-19: Other. On certain vehicles equipped with an M6 manual transmission, the clutch master cylinder elbow may develop a hairline crack under normal operating conditions.  A fluid leak from the clutch hydraulic system could cause the fluid level warning light to illuminate and a loss of gear\-shifting capability.  Correction: Dealers will replace the hydraulic elbow.
