# Recalls that may apply to the 2010 Ferrari 458

- [14V487000](/recalls/nhtsa/14V487000.md), 2014-08-07: LATCHES/LOCKS/LINKAGES:TRUNK LID:LOCK. Ferrari North America, Inc. \(Ferrari\) is recalling certain model year 2010\-2014 F458 Italia and F458 Spider vehicles manufactured March 5, 2010, to May 20, 2013.  In the affected vehicles, the secondary latch for the front trunk storage compartment may not release when the vehicle is stationary.  As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard No. 401, "Interior Trunk Release." Built 2010\-03\-05 to 2013\-05\-20.
- [10V389000](/recalls/nhtsa/10V389000.md), 2010-09-01: ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING. FERRARI IS RECALLING CERTAIN MODEL YEAR 2010 458 ITALIA VEHICLES.  THE HEAT CREATED BY THE ENGINE COULD CAUSE POSSIBLE DEFORMATION OF THE REAR RIGHT HAND AND LEFT HAND WHEELHOUSE AND HEAT SHIELD ASSEMBLIES.  THE ASSEMBLY COULD COME EXCESSIVELY CLOSE TO THE EXHAUST SYSTEM CAUSING THE BONDING ADHESIVE USED IN THE ASSEMBLY TO OVERHEAT AND PRODUCE SMOKE.

- [2021667](/recalls/tc/2021667.md), 2021-11-02: Brakes. Issue: On certain vehicles, the braking system could leak brake fluid. If this happens, there could be a partial or total loss of braking.  Safety Risk: Reduced braking or a loss of brakes can increase the risk of a crash.  Corrective Actions: Ferrari will notify owners by mail. The corrective actions for this recall are under development and Ferrari will send you a second notice once a final repair is available. Ferrari advises that if the "Low Brake Fluid" warning message appears on the vehicle dashboard, you should pull off the road as soon as it is safe to do so. You should then contact Ferrari Roadside Assistance and get towed to the nearest dealer.
- [2016248](/recalls/tc/2016248.md), 2016-05-24: Airbag. On certain vehicles, long\-term exposure to high humidity and temperature, combined with high temperature cycling, could eventually degrade the propellant contained in the passenger frontal airbag. This could cause the airbag to deploy with more force than normal. As a result, if the vehicle were involved in a collision that warrants airbag deployment, fragments could be propelled toward vehicle occupants, and the airbag assembly could be damaged, preventing proper function. These issues could increase the risk of injury. Correction: Dealers will replace the airbag inflator.  Note: Canadian climate results in the propellant degrading slowly. The recall is being conducted as a precaution to address future risk, and is expected to replace airbag inflators before their function would be affected.
- [2014368](/recalls/tc/2014368.md), 2014-08-29: Other. Certain vehicles may not comply with Canadian Motor Vehicle Safety Standard 401 \- Interior trunk release. The release mechanism for the front trunk may not release the secondary trunk latch when the vehicle is stationary, contrary to the requirements of the standard. Correction: Dealers will modify the front trunk latch mechanism.
- [2010294](/recalls/tc/2010294.md), 2010-09-02: Other. On certain vehicles, heat created by the engine could cause possible deformation of the rear right hand and left hand wheelhouse and heat shield assemblies.  If not remedied, the assembly could become excessively close to the exhaust system causing the bonding adhesive used in the assembly to overheat and produce smoke, or in remote circumstances under particularly high ambient operating temperature conditions cause the adhesive to catch fire, also rendering the vehicle inoperable and possibly resulting in a crash.  Correction: Dealers will install new heat shields.
