- [1996063](/recalls/tc/1996063.md), 1996-04-29: Brakes. Note: Vehicles equipped with Bendix\-10 Antilock Brake System \(ABS\) Vehicles with ABS brakes may experience premature actuator piston seal wear in the ABS hydraulic control unit and/or actuator pump motor deterioration. If this occurs, the ABS function may be lost and reduced power assist may be experienced during vehicle braking. Correction: Vehicles with ABS malfunction will be repaired as necessary. Warranty on all ABS components will be extended to 10 years or 160,000 km \(except for the brake actuator piston assembly and the pump\-motor assembly which will have lifetime coverage\).

THE HEATER CORE END CAP MAY FAIL \(SPLIT/TEAR\) ALLOWING THE DISCHARGE OF COOLING SYSTEM STEAM INTO THE PASSENGER COMPARTMENT WHICH MAY CAUSE REDUCED DRIVER VISIBILITY. CORRECTION: A COOLANT TEMPERATURE\-CONTROLLED FLUID BYPASS VALVE WILL BE INSTALLED ON AFFECTED VEHICLES. THIS VALVE WILL ISOLATE THE HEATER CORE DURING PERIODS OF HIGH COOLANT TEMPERATURE.
