# Recalls that may apply to the 2016 Dodge Journey

- [18V332000](/recalls/nhtsa/18V332000.md), 2018-05-17: ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:SOFTWARE; VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL:CRUISE CONTROL; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:WIRING. Chrysler \(FCA US LLC\) is recalling certain 2014\-2018 Dodge Journey, Charger and Durango, RAM 2500, 3500, 3500 Cab Chassis \(more than 10,000lb\), 4500 Cab Chassis and 5500 Cab Chassis, Jeep Cherokee and Grand Cherokee and Chrysler 300, 2014\-2019 RAM 1500, 2015\-2018 Dodge Challenger, 2015\-2017 Chrysler 200, 2016\-2018 RAM 3500 Cab Chassis \(less than 10,000 lb\), 2017\-2018 Chrysler Pacifica and 2018 Jeep Wrangler vehicles.  These vehicles are being recalled to address a defect that could prevent the cruise control system from disengaging.  If, when using cruise control, there is a short circuit within the vehicle's wiring, the driver may not be able to shut off the cruise control either by depressing the brake pedal or manually turning the system off once it has been engaged, resulting in either the vehicle maintaining its current speed or possibly accelerating. Built 2013\-05\-13 to 2018\-05\-16.
- [16V907000](/recalls/nhtsa/16V907000.md), 2016-12-16: ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING:ENGINE. Chrysler \(FCA US LLC\) is recalling certain model year 2016 Dodge Journey, Jeep Compass, and Jeep Patriot vehicles manufactured May 9, 2016, to July 15, 2016.  The crankshaft or camshaft sensor may only work intermittently, causing the engine to stall. Built 2016\-05\-09 to 2016\-07\-15.
- [16V461000](/recalls/nhtsa/16V461000.md), 2016-06-24: POWER TRAIN:AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION. Chrysler \(FCA US LLC\) is recalling certain model year 2015\-2016 Chrysler Town \& Country, Dodge Grand Caravan vehicles manufactured July 31, 2015, to April 18, 2016, 2016 Dodge Journey vehicles manufactured August 17, 2015, to January 29, 2016, and 2016 RAM ProMaster vehicles manufactured August 15, 2016, to April 15, 2016.  The transmission pump may seize causing a loss of hydraulic pressure. Built 2015\-08\-17 to 2016\-01\-29.
- [16V273000](/recalls/nhtsa/16V273000.md), 2016-05-06: STEERING:HYDRAULIC POWER ASSIST:HOSE, PIPING, AND CONNECTIONS. Chrysler \(FCA US LLC\) is recalling certain model year 2009\-2016 Dodge Journey vehicles manufactured July 31, 2007, to November 12, 2016.  After exposure to cold temperatures, the power steering return hose may rupture at engine start\-up causing a loss of power steering assist. Built 2007\-07\-31 to 2015\-11\-12.

- [2018269](/recalls/tc/2018269.md), 2018-05-17: Engine. On certain vehicles, an electronic fault may create a situation where the cruise control cannot be deactivated. If this occurs and the driver does not apply the brakes or shift the transmission to neutral, the vehicle could maintain speed or accelerate without warning, increasing the risk of a crash causing injury and/or damage to property. Correction: Dealers will inspect the Powertrain Control Module \(PCM\) software and perform an update as necessary. Note: In the interim, owners are advised not to use the cruise control until the vehicle is repaired.
- [2016624](/recalls/tc/2016624.md), 2016-12-14: Powertrain. Certain vehicles may experience intermittent operation of the crankshaft or camshaft sensor. Intermittent operation of the crankshaft or camshaft sensor may result in illumination of a malfunction indicator lamp \(“MIL”\), the vehicle not starting or the engine stalling while driving, causing a loss of motive power which could increase the risk of a crash causing injury and/or property damage. Correction: Dealers will replace the crankshaft and camshaft connector.
- [2016306](/recalls/tc/2016306.md), 2016-06-14: Powertrain. On certain vehicles, a defect may cause the transmission pump rotor to seize or break, resulting in a loss of transmission pressure. This could result in a loss of motive power which, in conjunction with traffic and road conditions, and the driver's reactions may increase the risk of a crash causing injury. Correction: dealers will replace the transmission pump assembly.
- [2016202](/recalls/tc/2016202.md), 2016-05-05: Steering. On certain vehicles, the power steering return hose could rupture at engine start up if the vehicle is exposed to extended cold weather conditions. A power steering hose leak could result in the loss of power steering assist and increased steering effort, which depending on the driver's reactions and traffic conditions, could increase the risk of a crash resulting in injury and/or damage to property. Correction: Dealers will replace the return side power steering lines with new parts that are validated for extreme cold weather performance.
