Service bulletins for the 2017 Chevrolet Volt
A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

| 15-NA-058 | 2016-06-22. Service bulletin. POWER TRAIN:AXLE ASSEMBLY. Squeak, Squawk, Creak or Popping Noise Originating from Rear Axle Some customers may comment on a squeak, squawk, creak or popping noise in the rear of the vehicle when cornering or pulling into driveways. The creak noise is created from the manufacturing process when the rear axle round tube is compressed to a U shape pattern. When the rear axle twists, the inner axle tube wall rubs on the outer wall. To fix the creak noise, a dry lubricant has been added during manufacturing. See the red arrows in the illustration above for rubbing areas. |
The summaries are NHTSA's. Each bulletin's page links NHTSA's copy of the manufacturer's document.
