Service bulletins for the 2017 Chevrolet Volt

A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

Some vehicles may have contact between an evaporative emission pipe and air conditioning (A/C) hose. Over time, such contact may wear a hole into the pipe causing a malfunction indicator lamp (MIL) to illuminate and diagnostic trouble code (DTC) P0442 may set. Dealers will inspect the pipe for wear, install a bumper on the pipe; and if necessary, replace the purge pipe.
172282019-04-22. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM; POWER TRAIN; ENGINE; FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM. 17228 - Customer Satisfaction Program. Certain vehicles, equipped with an automatic transmission (RPO MKV), may exhibit a condition where the driver notices a ?Propulsion Power is Reduced? message in the driver information center. This condition is sometimes accompanied by the diagnostic trouble code P0A7F or a significant decrease in actual electric vehicle range. The driver may also notice the engine running at consistently higher power than normal to propel the vehicle and acceleration is slower than expected. Dealers are to reprogram the hybrid powertrain control module 2.

161852019-04-08. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM; EQUIPMENT; ENGINE. 16185-Customer Satisfaction. On certain vehicles, the high voltage interlock connector behind the high voltage battery disconnect relay fuse block cover may be susceptible to becoming recessed back into the high voltage battery disconnect relay assembly. This may cause an electrical disconnect which could result in a loss of vehicle propulsion and/or a no start condition. The malfunction indicator lamp may be illuminated and DTC P0A0C ? ?high voltage system inter-lock circuit low? may be set. A ?Shift To Park? message may also be displayed. Additionally, a subset of these vehicles may have a condition in which the 15A fuse in the high voltage battery disconnect relay may prematurely open. The open fuse may prevent the low voltage battery from being charged by the 14v DC power module. If this were to occur, the vehicle will provide warning to the driver and eventually lose electrical power. Once power is drained from the 12 volt battery, the vehicle may lose propulsion and will not start. Dealers will reprogram the hybrid powertrain control module 2; and if applicable, replace the 15 amp high voltage battery disconnect relay fuse.
