# Recalls that may apply to the 2015 Chevrolet Malibu

- [16V502000](/recalls/nhtsa/16V502000.md), 2016-07-05: ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:IGNITION; POWER TRAIN:AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION:CONTROL MODULE \(TCM/PCM/TECM\). General Motors LLC \(GM\) is recalling certain model year 2016\-2017 Buick Verano and 2016 Chevrolet Malibu as the electronic park lock lever may allow the ignition key to be removed without the transmission being in PARK.  Also, certain 2013 Buick Encore,  2011 Buick Regal, 2013\-2014 Buick Verano, 2011\-2016 Chevrolet Cruze, 2010\-2013 Chevrolet Equinox  2013\-2015 Chevrolet Malibu, and 2011\-2013 GMC Terrain vehicles may have been serviced with similar defective replacement electronic park lock levers.  As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard \(FMVSS\) number 114, "Theft Protection and Rollaway Prevention." Built 2012\-09\-14 to 2015\-10\-14.
- [15V666000](/recalls/nhtsa/15V666000.md), 2015-10-16: AIR BAGS:SIDE/WINDOW. General Motors LLC \(GM\) is recalling certain model year 2015 Buick LaCrosse, Cadillac XTS, Chevrolet Camaro, Equinox, Malibu, and GMC Terrain vehicles.  The affected vehicles have front seat\-mounted side impact air bags whose inflator may rupture upon its deployment. Built 2015\-03\-11 to 2015\-03\-11.
- [15V164000](/recalls/nhtsa/15V164000.md), 2015-03-23: VISIBILITY:SUN/MOON ROOF ASSEMBLY. General Motors LLC \(GM\) is recalling certain model year 2013\-2015 Chevrolet Malibu vehicles October 24, 2011, to March 5, 2015.  In the affected vehicles, the Slide or Tilt switch for the roof panel may not be adequately recessed to prevent the switch from inadvertently being pressed.  As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard \(FMVSS\) No. 118, "Power\-Operated Window, Partition, and Roof Panel Systems." Built 2014\-03\-12 to 2015\-03\-05.

- [2019420](/recalls/tc/2019420.md), 2019-08-21: Other. Issue: This recall is for aftermarket replacement rear window glass produced by Vitro Automotriz. Certain rear window glass may not have been properly tempered. If the window breaks, the glass may separate into large pieces instead of very small ones. Note: This is a voluntary recall that is not being conducted under the requirements of the Motor Vehicle Safety Act.  Safety Risk: Glass that breaks in to large pieces could create a risk of injury.  Corrective Actions: The company will notify consumers by mail and instruct them to inspect the designation code marked on the rear window glass. Products affected by this recall have the designation “DOT 287” along with the lettering “VMR” \(Replacement Market\) and a date code that is before July 2019. This information is printed on the bottom corner of the glass. Consumers should contact Vitro's customer service at 1\-412\-995\-6457 or argbacklites@vitro.com to arrange for replacement of the glass.
- [2015118](/recalls/tc/2015118.md), 2015-03-18: Structure. Certain vehicles equipped with power\-operated sunroof systems may fail to conform to Canada Motor Vehicle Safety Standard \(CMVSS\) 118 \- Power\-Operated Window, Partition and Roof Panel Systems.  The roof panels could close automatically when the non\-recessed portion of the “Slide” or “Tilt” switches are pressed and the roof panel is open, which is contrary to the standard.   The switch could be more susceptible to an inadvertent actuation, which could result in unintended auto\-closure of the roof panel, increasing the risk of injury.  Correction: Dealers will update the Body Control Module \(BCM\), which will remove the "one touch" \(momentary actuation\) feature for certain switch positions.
