Bombardier Recreational Products Inc. \(BRP\) is recalling certain model year 2008\-2012 Can\-Am Spyder GS, RS, and RT series vehicles. BRP IS RECALLING CERTAIN MODEL YEAR 2010 SPYDER RS SE5 2ND SERIES AND RT SE5 ROADSTERS. WHEN BRINGING A VEHICLE EQUIPPED WITH THE SE5 SEMI\-AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION TO A FULL STOP, THE CLUTCH MAY REMAIN ENGAGED STALLING THE ENGINE. A CONDITION MAY EXIST WHERE THE OPERATOR OF AN INVOLVED VEHICLE MAY NEED TO EXERT A FORCE GREATER THAN EXPECTED TO INITIATE THE TURNING OF THE STEERING HANDLEBAR OFF CENTER IN ORDER TO CORRECT VEHICLE DRIFT FROM A STRAIGHT LINE PATH. THIS HIGHER THAN EXPECTED STEERING CONTROL INPUT TORQUE MAY CAUSE A STEERING ANGLE OVERSHOOT AND AN UNEXPECTED DEVIATION OF THE VEHICLE FROM THE OPERATOR'S INTENDED PATH. On certain vehicles, the fuel cap may not seal properly on the fuel tank filler neck and could allow fuel vapours to escape. Fuel vapours, in the presence of an ignition source, could result in a fire causing injury and/or damage to property. Correction: Owners will be sent an updated fuel cap. - [2012421](/recalls/tc/2012421.md), 2012-12-12: Fuel System. On certain vehicles, an incorrect fuel vapor canister vent hose may have been installed and could allow fuel vapours to escape in proximity of an ignition source. Fuel vapours, in the presence of an ignition source, could result in a fire causing injury and/or damage to property. Correction: Dealers will inspect and replace as well as re\-route the vent line if necessary. - [2012126](/recalls/tc/2012126.md), 2012-04-10: Brakes. On certain Can\-Am Spyder RT Series roadsters, the pin securing the brake pedal connecting rod could disengage and fall off. This would result in a complete loss of braking ability without any prior warning. The loss of brake function, in conjunction with traffic and road conditions, and the driver's reactions, could increase the risk of a crash causing property damage and/or personal injury. Correction: Dealers will replace the brake pedal connector rod pin. - [2010313](/recalls/tc/2010313.md), 2010-09-15: Steering. On certain vehicles, a situation may occur where the operator is required to exert a force greater than expected to initiate the turning of the steering handlebar of the vehicle in order to correct its trajectory. At this increased level of force, the handlebar may be turned more than intended. If this occurs, an operator may steer the vehicle out of the driving lane or off the roadway, increasing the risk of a crash, resulting in possible serious injury or death to operators or bystanders. Correction: Dealers will replace the steering gear box with an updated version. - [2010174](/recalls/tc/2010174.md), 2010-05-31: Powertrain. On certain Can\-Am Spyder RS and RT, equipped with an SE5 semi\-automatic transmission, the clutch may remain engaged while the vehicle is brought to a stop, which could cause the engine to stall. Should the engine stall, it may be impossible to re\-start. As well, the rear wheel may be locked, making it difficult to move the vehicle out of the way of other road users. Engine stalling, and the resultant loss of propulsion could, in conjunction with traffic and road conditions, and the rider's reactions, increase the risk of a crash causing property damage and/or personal injury. Dealers will update the centrifugal clutch assembly. - [2009353](/recalls/tc/2009353.md), 2009-12-17: Electrical. On certain Can\-Am Spyder RT Roadsters, the ignition switch harness may be routed too tight and the connector to the ignition switch may not be locked properly in place. This situation may cause the harness to unplug itself from the ignition switch causing the vehicle to stall without warning. This could result in a crash causing personal injury or death.
