Service bulletins for the 2013 Cadillac ATS

A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

2400 on file from NHTSA, as of 2026-10-19.

PI11602021-04-29. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT ADAPTIVE/MOBILITY; EQUIPMENT; EQUIPMENT:APPLIANCE:AIR CONDITIONER. Water on Front Compartment Floor and/or Musty Odor Condition/Concern Important: On vehicles built before VIN # D0142531, ensure the HVAC After-Blow function has been enabled. See the latest version of PIC5730 for instructions. Some customers may comment that, after running the air conditioner (A/C), water is noticed on the floor or in extreme cases a musty odor may be detected in the vehicle. This could be caused by a mis-positioned HVAC drain assembly in the floor. Some vehicles may also have a secondary drain tube within the drain assembly and this tube could contribute to the musty odor
PI11622021-04-29. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT; EQUIPMENT ADAPTIVE/MOBILITY; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. Mobile Telephone Microphone Poor Performance Condition/Concern Some customers may comment when using the Bluetooth® phone system in their vehicle, the person on the receiving end of a mobile telephone call states the audio sounds muffled, distorted or has static. The foam patch on the back of the headliner at the microphone mounting area may have come loose. This foam is a sound barrier for the back side of the microphone. If the patch is detached, it allows unwanted noise to interfere with the microphone operation when making a phone call.

99-08-51-007F2021-04-26. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT; WHEELS; EQUIPMENT ADAPTIVE/MOBILITY. Refinishing Aluminum Wheels This bulletin updates General Motor's position on refinishing aluminum wheels. GM does not endorse any repairs that involve welding, bending, straightening o re-machining. Only cosmetic refinishing of the wheel's coatings, using recommended procedures, is allowed. Evaluating Damage In evaluating damage, it is the GM Dealer's responsibility to inspect the wheel for corrosion, scrapes, gouges, etc. The Dealer must insure that such damage is not deeper than what can be sanded or polished off. The wheel must be inspected for cracks. If cracks are found, discard the wheel. Any wheels with bent rim flanges must not be repaired or refinished. Wheels that have been refinished by an outside company must be returned to the same vehicle. The Dealer must record the wheel ID stamp or the cast date on the wheel in order to assure this requirement. Refer to Refinisher's Responsibility — Outside Company later in this bulletin.

PI1489A2021-04-26. Service bulletin. POWER TRAIN:MANUAL TRANSMISSION; ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING:ENGINE:ENGINE CONTROL MODULE (ECU/ECM). Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL) Illuminated, Intermittently Unable to Shift into Reverse, DTC P0502 Set Condition/Concern Some customers may comment on a malfunction indicator lamp (MIL) illuminated. They may also comment that they intermittently are unable to shift into Reverse. When checking the vehicle for DTCs, the engine control module (ECM) may report P0502 as current or in history. This may be caused by water intrusion into the vehicle’s manual transmission output speed sensor or could be induced by the customer slipping the clutch for an extended period of time, as in holding the vehicle on a hill.
07-08-49-020J2021-04-20. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:INSTRUMENT PANEL:SPEEDOMETER/ODOMETER; EQUIPMENT:OTHER:OWNERS/SERVICE/OTHER MANUAL. IPC Odometer Programming Method Quick Reference Guide Season Odometer Programming Methods in Use Today 1. IPC reprogramming and setup using the service programming system (SPS). 2. Odometer setup at the electronic service center (ESC) when using an exchange IPC/DIC. 3. Tech 2® – The Tech 2 is used to set up a replacement BCM, which includes loading the odometer value that is displayed and stored in the IPC. A replacement IPC will display the previously stored vehicle odometer value, communicated from the BCM, after cycling the ignition or driving the vehicle. *The odometer programming is integrated as part of the BCM programming procedure. It is not a stand-alone event.

PIP5163E2021-04-19. Service bulletin. FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE. This Preliminary Information communication provides information to the technician about engine block of possible cylinder bore damage, scoring or out of round as the possible cause of engine oil consumption, misfire, cylinder leakage or blow by. Technician will need to inspect the engine for Cylinder damage or scoring, An out of round cylinder bore, Dirt intrusion, and Catalytic Converter failure.
PIC5260D2021-04-19. Service bulletin. VISIBILITY:SUN/MOON ROOF ASSEMBLY. This Preliminary Information communication advises the technician the steps on diagnosing the concern. Customer's sunroof operation intermittent, bind, noise, auto-reverse, and/or water leaks.
PIP5540G2021-04-19. Service bulletin. ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING:ENGINE:OIL/LUBRICATION:PRESSURE/TEMPERATURE SENSOR. This Preliminary information communicates to the technician the need to inspect the induction system for potential icing issues in very cold ambient temperatures. To allow the ice to melt so that it can be drained from the related components. That any of the listed DTC's may set with or without poor engine performance.
PIP5725A2021-04-19. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT. This Preliminary information communicates the use of Winter grade fuel during the warm months of 2020 and the potential rivability issues that it can cause. The ongoing Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic has caused significant reductions in driving and fuel use. Due to the surplus of winter grade fuel sitting in storage (pipelines/stations) the EPA is waiving the fuel vapor requirement. This will extend the use of winter fuel into the summer months. The drivability concerns should not be single events but should be multiple occurrences associated with hot days.
PIP57902021-04-19. Service bulletin. POWER TRAIN; ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING. This Preliminary information communicates a corrosion, coolant / engine oil contamination concern of the terminals located in the ECM connectors. This document is an aide for technicians to diagnose and locate a resistance concern associated with these terminals. This condition can set various trouble codes and illuminate the MIL, make the engine stall or have a crank no start condition.
PI-1408E2021-04-16. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT:APPLIANCE:AIR CONDITIONER. Musty Odor from HVAC Vents on Startup Condition/Concern Some customers may comment on a musty or mildew odor coming from the HVAC instrument panel air outlet vents on startup. The odor most likely will dissipate after 30-60 seconds of operation. The odor generally occurs after the vehicle has been parked for 2–6 hours with sun load with temperatures of 21°C (70°F) or higher. This may be caused by condensation building up on the evaporator core, which does not evaporate by itself in humid conditions. The odor may be the result of microbial growth on the evaporator core being released into the air stream by the HVAC blower motor.
