## Canada (Transport Canada), as of 2026-10-19

- [2023009](/recalls/tc/2023009.md), 2023-01-18: Powertrain. Issue: On certain motorcycles, a sudden difference in speed between the engine and rear wheel could damage the gearbox input shaft or cause it to break. If this happens, the rear wheel could lock up while riding. Note: This type of sudden change in rear wheel speed is uncommon, but may happen in an off\-road situation where a spinning rear wheel slows suddenly while landing after a jump. Safety Risk: A rear wheel that locks suddenly could cause a loss of control and increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: BMW Motorrad will notify owners by mail and instruct you to bring your motorcycle to a dealership to update the engine management software.
- [2020570](/recalls/tc/2020570.md), 2020-11-24: Brakes. Issue: On certain motorcycles, the front brake calipers may leak a small amount of brake fluid when parked. Over a long time, this could empty the fluid reservoir. If this happens, the motorcycle will have reduced brake performance. This problem may result in brake fluid on the front tire or wheel, and on the ground after the motorcycle has been parked for an extended period. The owner's manual has information for how to check the brake fluid level before riding. Note: This recall replaces BMW recall 34 003 20 \(008\) \(Transport Canada recall 2020\-377\). Motorcycles that were repaired under that recall also require this repair. Safety Risk: Reduced front brake performance can cause extended stopping distances and increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: BMW will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your motorcycle to a dealer to inspect the front brakes. The calipers will be replaced, if necessary.
- [2020387](/recalls/tc/2020387.md), 2020-08-21: Label. Issue: On certain motorcycles, the material that the tire pressure, compliance and/or noise emission labels are printed on may be incorrect. As a result, the labels could detach from the frame. If this happens, and the owner’s manual isn’t consulted, the correct tire pressure information may not be known. This could lead to the tires being inflated incorrectly and cause poor handling and/or a tire failure. Safety Risk: Poor handling or a tire failure could cause a loss of control and result in a crash. Corrective Actions: BMW will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your motorcycle to a dealer to replace the labels.
- [2020377](/recalls/tc/2020377.md), 2020-08-14: Brakes. Issue: On certain motorcycles, the front brake calipers may leak a small amount of brake fluid when parked. Over a long time, this could empty the fluid reservoir. If this happens, the motorcycle will have reduced brake performance. Note: This problem may result in brake fluid on the front tire or wheel, and on the ground after the motorcycle has been parked for an extended period. The owner's manual has information for how to check the brake fluid level before riding. Safety Risk: Reduced front brake performance can cause extended stopping distances and increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: BMW will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your motorcycle to a dealer to inspect the front brakes. The calipers will be replaced, if necessary.
