Recalls that may apply to the 2025 BMW M 1000 XR

A recall listed here may apply to a vehicle of this year, make and model. Only the manufacturer can say whether it applies to one vehicle: check the VIN with the official lookups.

United States: NHTSA, as of 2026-10-19
25V1940002025-03-27. STEERING. BMW of North America, LLC (BMW) is recalling certain 2024-2025 M 1000 XR, and M 1000 R motorcycles. The steering damper may have a loose valve pin within the housing, which can cause an unexpected increase in steering effort.
Canada: Transport Canada, as of 2026-10-19
20251692025-04-01. Steering. Issue: On a small number of motorcycles, the steering damper may not have been manufactured properly. As a result, a part inside the damper could move and cause a sudden change in steering feel and an increase in steering effort. Safety Risk: A sudden change in steering effort could increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: BMW Motorrad will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your motorcycle to a dealership to replace the steering damper.

A campaign lists a year, a make and a model, and often only some of the vehicles built. A list with nothing on it is not a clearance either. The lookups below check one VIN.
