THROTTLE CABLE MAY HAVE BEEN DAMAGED DURING INSTALLATION  RESULTING IN A BEND OR A KINK OR CHAFING AND FRAYING OF THE BRAIDED WIRE CABLE.                                                                                   CONSEQUENCE OF DEFECT: THROTTLE OPERATION COULD BE IMPAIRED REQUIRING INCREASED  EFFORT TO OPEN AND CLOSE THE THROTTLE, RESULTING IN LOSS OF THROTTLE CONTROL     WHICH MAY LEAD TO AN ACCIDENT. Built 1984\-03\-01 to 1986\-01\-01.

- [1988001](/recalls/tc/1988001.md), 1988-01-05: Suspension. On certain motorcycles, the lower part \(eyelet\) of the spring/damper unit which attaches to the rear drive unit, could crack.  In extreme circumstances, the spring/damper could detach from the rear drive allowing the rear of the motorcycle to drop onto the rear tire, causing a drag on the tire and possible unstable vehicle handling.  Correction: Spring/damper lower eyelet will be replace with a streghtened eyelet.
- [1986066](/recalls/tc/1986066.md), 1986-06-19: Structure. On certain motorcycles, bending or kinking of the braided metal throttle cable could eventually result in a significantly increased operating effort in order to open and close the throttle with the twist grip.  This could lead to reduced driver control.  Correction: Vehicle will be inspected and throttle cable and support replaced if required.
