## Canada (Transport Canada), as of 2026-10-19

- [2025320](/recalls/tc/2025320.md), 2025-06-13: High Voltage. Issue: On certain vehicles, a problem with the electric drive motor software could cause the vehicle to enter a fail\-safe mode. If this happens, there could be a loss of power to the wheels. Note: This problem would cause a warning light to turn on and a warning message to be displayed. Safety Risk: A loss of power to the wheels could increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: BMW will notify owners by mail and send a wireless over\-the\-air software update to eligible vehicles to update the electric drive motor software. Alternatively, you may schedule an appointment to have the update performed at a BMW dealership.
- [2024544](/recalls/tc/2024544.md), 2024-08-15: Label. Issue: On certain vehicles, the tire and loading information label does not list that there is no spare tire in both official languages. The label reads as "NONE" when it should read as "NONE / AUCUN". Canadian regulations require the information to be listed on the label in both English and French. Safety Risk: This error does not affect vehicle safety. Corrective Actions: This is not a recall. The company has corrected the tire and loading information label for all new vehicles.
- [2023363](/recalls/tc/2023363.md), 2023-06-28: High Voltage. Issue: On a small number of vehicles, the combined charging unit \(CCU\) may not have been assembled correctly. As a result, power from the high\-voltage battery could be interrupted while driving. If this happens, the vehicle could stall and lose power to the wheels. Safety Risk: A sudden loss of power could increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: BMW will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your vehicle to a dealership to replace the high\-voltage battery combined charging unit \(CCU\).
- [2023333](/recalls/tc/2023333.md), 2023-06-07: Accessories. Issue: On certain vehicles, the driver's hand could accidently reactivate the cruise control while turning at low speeds. If this happens, the vehicle could accelerate and cause an unexpected speed increase. Safety Risk: An unexpected increase in vehicle speed could create the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: BMW will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your vehicle to a dealership to update the vehicle software.
- [2023061](/recalls/tc/2023061.md), 2023-02-14: Airbag. Issue: On certain vehicles, the driver\-front airbag may not inflate correctly in a crash. Safety Risk: An airbag that does not inflate correctly could create an increased risk of injury in a crash. Corrective Actions: BMW will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your vehicle to a dealership to replace the driver\-front airbag.
- [2022734](/recalls/tc/2022734.md), 2022-12-20: High Voltage. Issue: On certain vehicles, a software problem could cause the high\-voltage battery electronic control unit to reset. As a result, the high\-voltage system could disconnect while driving. If this happens, there could be a sudden loss of power to the wheels. Note: If this happens, you may see a warning message on the instrument panel. Safety Risk: A loss of power to the wheels could increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: BMW will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your vehicle to a dealer to update the high\-voltage battery electronic control unit software.
- [2022364](/recalls/tc/2022364.md), 2022-07-07: Airbag. Issue: On certain vehicles, the air bag control unit may not work properly due to a software error. As a result, the airbag warning light and warning messages may not turn on when there is a problem with the airbag system or the pedestrian protection system. Note: This recall replaces Transport Canada recall 2022\-183. Vehicles that were repaired under that recall also require this repair. Safety Risk: An airbag system that does not work properly could increase the risk of injury in a crash. Corrective Actions: BMW will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your vehicle to a dealership to update the airbag control unit software. To reduce the safety risk, BMW recommends that you should not transport any passengers until the recall repairs have been completed.
- [2022363](/recalls/tc/2022363.md), 2022-07-07: Lights And Instruments. Issue: When using the valet parking mode, a software problem could cause certain warning messages not to appear on the central information display. If this happens, the driver would not be alerted about these specific problems with vehicle components and/or systems. Additionally, it may not be possible to adjust the brightness of the instrument cluster. Canadian regulations require warning lights or messages to display when certain faults are detected. The regulations also require an adjustment for the brightness of the instrument cluster. Safety Risk: A driver that does not get warning messages about problems with vehicle components and/or systems could have an increased risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: BMW will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your vehicle to a dealership to update the head unit software.
- [2022183](/recalls/tc/2022183.md), 2022-04-13: Airbag. This recall was replaced by Transport Canada Recall No. 2022\-364. Issue: On certain vehicles, the air bag control unit may not work properly due to a software error. As a result, the airbag warning light and warning messages may not turn on when there is a problem with the airbag system or the pedestrian protection system.
