BMW of North America, LLC \(BMW\) is recalling certain 2019\-2021 BMW 330i, 2019\-2022 BMW Z4, 2020\-2022 BMW 530i, X3, X4, Toyota Supra, 2021\-2022 BMW 430i, 430i Convertible, and 2022 BMW 230i vehicles. The engine starter relay may corrode, causing the relay to overheat and short circuit. **NHTSA advises: park outside, away from buildings, until the repair is done.**

BMW of North America, LLC \(BMW\) is recalling certain 2019\-2022 330i, 330i xDrive, M340i, 2022 430i Coupe, 2021\-2022 430i, M440i Convertible, and 2020\-2022 228i xDrive Gran Coupe vehicles.  The receiver audio module control unit software may fail to properly generate audible seat belt warnings to the driver to fasten their seat belt.  As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 208, "Occupant Crash Protection."

When shifting into Reverse, a small portion of the rearview image may be obscured, or the screen may not illuminate.  As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard \(FMVSS\) number 111, "Rear Visibility."

BMW of North America, LLC \(BMW\) is recalling certain 2019 Z4 sDrive30i, 2019\-2020 330i xDrive, M340i and M340i xDrive, 2020 X3M and X4M, and Toyota Supra vehicles.  In certain driving conditions, such as high temperatures and rough road surfaces, a steering gear tie rod may become damaged, possibly resulting in a fractured tie rod.

The needle roller bearings of the counterbalance shafts may have been improperly installed, potentially causing the counterbalance shaft to loosen. Built 2018\-11\-22 to 2019\-09\-26.

The back\-up camera and display settings can be adjusted such that the rear view image is no longer visible and the system will retain that setting the next time the vehicle is placed in reverse.  As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard \(FMVSS\) number 111, "Rearview Mirrors." Built 2018\-05\-14 to 2019\-08\-06.

BMW of North America, LLC \(BMW\) is recalling certain 2019\-2020 230i, 230i xDrive, M240i, M240i xDrive, M2 Competition Coupe, 430i, 430i xDrive, 440i, 440i xDrive, M4, and 2019 330i xDrive Sportswagon vehicles.  The driver and passenger knee air bag assemblies may have been improperly folded and assembled. Built 2019\-02\-20 to 2019\-05\-02.

- [2025499](/recalls/tc/2025499.md), 2025-09-23: Electrical. Issue: On certain vehicles, water could leak into the starter relay and cause it to corrode. If this happens, the relay could short circuit and the starter could overheat.  Safety Risk: A short circuit and/or a starter that overheats can create a fire risk, even while the vehicle is parked and turned off.  Corrective Actions: To reduce the safety risk, BMW advises that you should park your vehicle outdoors and away from other vehicles or structures until the recall repairs have been completed. BMW will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your vehicle to a dealership to replace the engine starter.
- [2024544](/recalls/tc/2024544.md), 2024-08-15: Label. Issue: On certain vehicles, the tire and loading information label does not list that there is no spare tire in both official languages. The label reads as "NONE" when it should read as "NONE / AUCUN". Canadian regulations require the information to be listed on the label in both English and French.  Safety Risk: This error does not affect vehicle safety.  Corrective Actions: This is not a recall. The company has corrected the tire and loading information label for all new vehicles.
- [2023463](/recalls/tc/2023463.md), 2023-08-16: Lights And Instruments. Issue: On certain vehicles, the seat belt reminder chime may be delayed if you begin driving, and your your seat belt is not buckled. Canadian regulations require both a seat belt reminder sound and visual tell\-tale when a driver is not wearing their seat belt.  Safety Risk: A seat belt warning that doesn't work correctly may not remind you to buckle your seat before driving. Not wearing your seat belt can increase the risk of injury in a crash.  Corrective Actions: BMW will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your vehicle to a dealership to update the Receiver Audio Module software.
- [2021078](/recalls/tc/2021078.md), 2021-02-18: Visual System. Issue: On certain vehicles, a software problem could cause the rearview camera image not to appear correctly in the central display. Canadian regulations require the rearview image to display when the transmission is shifted into reverse gear.  Safety Risk: A rearview camera image that does not display correctly could reduce a driver's ability to see behind the vehicle while backing up. This could increase the risk of a crash.  Corrective Actions: BMW will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your vehicle to a dealer to update the rearview camera software, if necessary.
- [2020267](/recalls/tc/2020267.md), 2020-06-16: Steering. Issue: On certain vehicles, high temperatures and excessive vibration could cause damage to the steering tie rods. If this happens, the tie rods could break. This could result in a loss of steering control.  Safety Risk: A loss of steering control could create a risk of a crash.  Corrective Actions: BMW will notify owners by mail and instruct you take your vehicle to a dealer to replace the steering tie rods.
- [2019480](/recalls/tc/2019480.md), 2019-10-01: Visual System. Issue: On certain vehicles, the rearview camera does not return to the default settings when it turns on. This could make the rearview image difficult to see if a driver had previously adjusted the camera display brightness at or near the lowest setting, and contrast at or near the highest setting. Canadian regulations require that the rearview display returns to the default view each time the camera is turned on.  Safety Risk: Reduced rear visibility could increase the risk of a crash.  Corrective Actions: The company will notify owners by mail and instruct them to take their vehicle to a dealer to update the software for the rearview camera. Drivers are recommended not to adjust the display brightness at or near the lowest setting, and contrast at or near the highest setting, until this recall is completed.
- [2019220](/recalls/tc/2019220.md), 2019-05-09: Airbag. Issue: On certain vehicles, the driver and front passenger knee airbags were not assembled correctly. This could cause the airbags not to inflate properly in a crash.  Safety Risk: A knee airbag that does not deploy properly could create an increased risk of injury in a crash.  Corrective Actions: BMW will notify owners by mail and instruct them to take their vehicle to a dealer to replace the driver and/or front passenger knee airbag modules as required.
- [2018428](/recalls/tc/2018428.md), 2018-08-15: Airbag. Certain vehicles may have been built with a defective passenger front airbag. This could cause the airbag not to deploy properly in a crash, increasing the risk of injury to the seat occupant. Correction: Dealers will replace the passenger front airbag.
