Service bulletins for the 2020 Bentley Flying Spur

A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

2057978/52021-10-06. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM; ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING. Engine Lubricating Oil - Replenishment. Customer statement / workshop findings Engine lubricating oil lamp illuminated on driver instrument panel. Engine lubricating oil requires topping up between services. Technical background: In order to provide effective lubrication and cooling of internal engine components, all internal combustion engines consume a certain amount of engine oil. Oil consumption varies from engine to engine and may change significantly over the life of the engine. Typically, engines with specified running-in periods consume more oil during the running-in period, and the oil consumption will stabilize after the running-in period. Refer to the Owners Manual for specific running-in procedures. Under normal conditions, the rate of oil consumption depends on the quality and viscosity of the oil, the RPM at which the engine is operated, ambient temperature and road conditions. Additional factors are the amount of oil dilution from water condensation or fuel residue, and the oxidation level of the oil. Certain driving conditions may negatively influence the rate of oil consumption. This can occur while the vehicle is operated in city driving conditions, for example: stop and go traffic with extended idle periods

Customer statement / workshop findings: Upon start-up of the Home screen, loading messages can be seen in some or all of the tiles. Technical background A delay when loading tiles is normal, this is due to the amount of external data that is required to load each individual tile, including multiple pages of external data that can be associated with each individual tile. Some tiles will naturally take longer to load than others. For example, APPS, NAVIGATION and MEDIA are likely to have a greater delay in loading than other tiles this is due to the amount of external data required to display the relevant information. TIP: If required, the delay can be reduced by only selecting tiles that do not communicate with external data sources, for example CAR or CLIMATE functions. A technical DISS query should be raised by the retailer to highlight the issue described is evident.
