New Continental GT V8T and New Continental GTC V8T - Oil filter by-pass valve (SC14/17) Technical background: This procedure should be conducted during an applicable service interval in which both the engine oil and engine oil filter require replacing. This procedure details the process which must be followed to determine correct fitment/presence of the oil filter pressure relief valve, there are three possible scenarios, as follows: I) The valve is fitted, and the orientation of the valve is correct II) The valve is fitted, however the orientation of the valve is incorrect III) The valve is not fitted Remedy: This campaign must be carried out on all applicable vehicles to ensure all affected VINs have all instructions within this procedure conducted. Customer notification
2028808/32020-01-17. Service bulletin. ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING. Service info: Engine oil Specific oil type and oil consumption dealer reference Customer statement / workshop findings: Engine oil level requires top up between services Technical background: The introduction of the Bentley Continental GT V8 brings a new engine to the Bentley family. This all new 4.0 litre V8 twin turbo joins the 6.0 litre W12 in the Continental range with the 6.75 litre V8 reserved for the Mulsanne. Each of these three engines had individual design criteria producing unique driving characteristics as a result each have individual lubrication requirements and oil consumption statistics. With the 4.0 litre V8 comes a new oil to Bentley - this new engine lubricant must only be used in the 4.0 litre V8. The use of the correct oil for each engine is critical to its continued performance, reliability and ultimately warranty. Therefor the workshop manual should always be the first point of reference ensuring the correct lubricant is used for each specific model year and engine type
