Service bulletins for the 2021 Bentley Bentayga

A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

Technical background Verify that the customer complaint matches the sound file within the Bentley Hub Reference TPI Transaction number 2064779/-. The noise present in the sound file is caused by defective upper inner lever bush/bushes, the noise can appear in the following possible scenario. -When the vehicle is moved with steering input over uneven surfaces (for e.g. a ramp or speed bump). If the customer complaint occurs in any of the above circumstances and the noise can be clearly assigned to the noise within the sound file Refer to the instructions within the Measure section of this TPI. VERY IMPORTANT NOTE FOR HYBRID VEHICLES: -Hybrid vehicles use a High voltage system and MUST only be worked on by suitably qualified personnel. -Please ensure all guidelines within the repair manual are strictly followed before and whilst conducting any work on vehicles with a High voltage system
2064582/12021-11-05. Service bulletin. SUSPENSION. Vehicle sitting low on one or more corners when static with no relevant DTCs stored. Customer statement / workshop findings - Vehicle sitting low on one or more corners when static - No relevant DTCs are evident Technical background: Refer to the Measure section of this TPI. Measure: 1) Confirm there are no DTCs indicating a fault with the air suspension system or associated systems 2) Refer to the instructions within TPI 2053492/- to confirm that no air leaks or issues relating to the air springs are evident.
2053492/72021-10-07. Service bulletin. SUSPENSION. Air spring fault finding. Customer statement / workshop findings: The front and/or rear suspension appears to have dropped. Technical background: The list of Bentley vehicles below are fitted with air springs as part of the suspension system. Should air leak from the air springs, this will cause the suspension to drop. However, the dropping of the suspension does not necessarily mean that the air spring is faulty. The Measure section of this TPI describes how and where to check for air leaks on the front and rear air springs, the air pump compressor, pipes, valve unit and air reservoirs. This includes potential air leak points on the air springs and also the locations of an air leak that can be repaired without the need to replace an air spring.

Customer statement: Noise complaint from the suspension and/or steering Workshop findings: The noise can be reproduced and clearly assigned to the suspension system from either of the axles And/or The noise can be reproduced and clearly assigned to the steering system
2048616/92021-08-06. Service bulletin. STEERING; SUSPENSION. Creaking noise from the front suspension when manoeuvring. Customer statement / workshop findings: Creaking noise from the front suspension when manoeuvring Technical background Verify that the customer complaint matches the sound file within the Bentley Hub Reference TPI Transaction number 2048616/- TIP: When listening to the sound file the noise can be heard from between 0 and 3 seconds The noise present in the sound file is caused by defective Lower suspension lever - Rear - Hydraulic mounts. In order to reproduce the noise this bush must be twisted, therefore the noise can appear in the following circumstances - When performing parking manoeuvers with the brake applied - When steering from lock to lock with the vehicle in motion and the brake applied - When the vehicle is moved with steering input over uneven surfaces (for e.g. a ramp or speed bump) If the customer complaint occurs in any of the above circumstances and the noise can be clearly assigned to the noise within the sound file Refer to the instructions within the Measure section of this TPI

Customer statement/workshop findings: Unable to run Basic setting (full process + rebound end stops) after a new adaptive air suspension control unit has been fitted or work has been conducted on the suspension system which requires the Basic setting (full process + rebound end stops) procedure performing Technical background: Referring to Figure 1, During the Basic setting (full process + rebound end stops) the routine can stop during the initial part of the procedure, in particular at the stage shown in Figure 2, which is when the vehicle is raised to allow all four wheels to hang down to their full rebound position Should this issue be evident and the Basic settings routine does not continue - Refer to the Measure section of this TPI
2055643/22020-08-07. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:SOFTWARE; SUSPENSION:REAR. Software incompatibilty between J775 (Address 74) - J924 (Address D4) and J1096 (Address D5). Customer statement / workshop findings After replacing the software or hardware for the Adaptive suspension control unit (J775 Diagnostic address 74) or the Front Roll stabilisation control unit (J924 Diagnostic address D4) and/or the Rear Roll stabilisation unit (J1096 Diagnostic address D5) the software could be incompatible between the control units Technical background The Adaptive air suspension control unit (J775) functions as a universal control unit for the chassis control systems. The Adaptive air suspension control unit (J775) controls several functions in the car in particular the master for the active roll control system, The control unit contains developed suspension and damping control software. Should one of the modules be replaced for example (J775) on an early model vehicle the newer software contained within the replacement control unit may not be compatible with (J924) and/or (J1096)
