Customer statement/workshop findings Floor pan or steering column/steering wheel vibration when manoeuvring/steering at slow speeds with steering wheel input Technical background Prior to carrying out the assessments within the Measure section, the retailer must check and confirm the following: The engine has not been chip tuned The vehicle is in standard condition (as per factory specification) ensuring that NO non approved accessories are fitted The suspension, steering and brake components are in a serviceable condition The engine, transmission mounts, powertrain and all wheel bearings are in a serviceable condition The exhaust system and all wheels and tyres are in a serviceable condition (as per factory specification) Once confirmed that all the afore mentioned criteria has been met the assessment can then be conducted |
| 2060205/1 | 2020-08-07. Service bulletin. ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM; EQUIPMENT ADAPTIVE/MOBILITY. Bentayga - Engine Cooling System - DTC P218100. Customer statement / workshop findings: Emission Control Lamp illuminated on Driver Instrument Panel. The time to reach the correct engine coolant operating temperature has increased. Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) P218100 - Cooling System Performance is stored in the Engine Control Module (ECM), the vehicle warm up time is longer when compared to other vehicles of the same type. Technical background: It is possible for the engine coolant Thermostat to corrode over time, this corrosion is due to an adverse reaction of the Thermostat material with the engine coolant. The corrosion and subsequent build-up of debris prevents the correct operation of the thermostat when closing, resulting in over cooling. The ECM triggers a DTC when the target engine temperature is outside of the specified parameter. |

Customer statement / workshop findings: Engine oil level requires to:p up between services. Technical background The use of the correct oil for each engine type is critical for its continued performance, reliability and ultimately warranty. The workshop manual should always be the first point of reference, ensuring the correct lubricant is used for each specific model year and engine type Should oil be required the parts catalogue must be referred to ensuring the correct VIN is always used when ordering |

| 2057978/3 | 2020-05-06. Service bulletin. ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING. Engine Lubricating Oil - Replenishment. Customer statement / workshop findings: Engine lubricating oil lamp illuminated on driver instrument panel. Engine lubricating oil requires topping up between services. Technical background: In order to provide effective lubrication and cooling of internal engine components, all internal combustion engines consume a certain amount of engine oil. Oil consumption varies from engine to engine and may change significantly over the life of the engine. Typically, engines with specified running-in periods consume more oil during the running-in period, and the oil consumption will stabilize after the running-in period. Refer to the Owners Manual for specific running-in procedures. Under normal conditions, the rate of oil consumption depends on the quality and viscosity of the oil, the RPM at which the engine is operated, ambient temperature and road conditions. Additional factors are the amount of oil dilution from water condensation or fuel residue, and the oxidation level of the oil. Certain driving conditions may negatively influence the rate of oil consumption. This can occur while the vehicle is operated in city driving conditions, for example: stop and go traffic with extended idle periods. |
