ON CERTAIN PASSENGER VEHICLES WITH DIRECT SHIFT GEARBOX, DURING THE PRODUCTION OF THE GEARBOX, A SEAM AT THE CLUTCH WAS NOT WELDED TO SPECIFICATIONS.  THIS COULD LEAD TO DEGRADED PERFORMANCE OF THE CLUTCH INSIDE THE GEARBOX. Built 2003\-07\-01 to 2003\-10\-31.

- [2003343](/recalls/tc/2003343.md), 2003-12-19: Powertrain. On certain vehicles equipped with a Direct Shift Gearbox, a seam at the clutch was not welded to specification.  This could lead to degraded performance of the clutch after an indefinite period of use.  The clutch could lose its ability to provide input torque to the transmission without prior warning, which could allow the vehicle to roll.  Correction:  Dealer will replace the clutch.
