Service bulletins for the 2013 Audi S7
A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

Vibrations are felt at 1000 rpm and 3000 rpm. DTCs may be stored in the subframe mount control module. The basic settings of the active engine mounts in the subframe mount control module, J931, are deactivated when work is done on either of the vehicle electrical system control modules. As a result, the vehicle vibrates or judders when cylinders are actively switched off. |
| A191447 2036167- | 2017-11-08. Service bulletin. ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING. The low coolant level light is illuminated. The coolant level is too low. A black crust is visible on the turbocharger coolant lines. There may be slow coolant loss from the connections of the coolant feed pipe and coolant return pipe. High temperatures cause the coolant to become encrusted on the connection flange of the turbocharger. |
| A011461 2035235- | 2017-11-08. Service bulletin. ENGINE; POWER TRAIN. Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 01 number 13-36 dated October 9, 2013. | A101310 2018288- | 2017-10-31. Service bulletin. ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING. Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 10 number 10-02 dated September 14, 2010. Prior to engine replacement, any debris lodged in transferred assemblies must be removed. If the vehicle's engine experienced a serious mechanical problem, it is possible that small pieces of metal debris resulting from the mechanical problem may have become deposited in the intake manifold, air intake hoses, exhaust manifolds, exhaust down-pipes, turbocharger, supercharger, and/or intercooler. If these pieces are not removed prior to the installation and operation of the replacement engine, the pieces may be drawn into the combustion chamber, which can cause a knocking noise and subsequent serious engine damage. |
| A011336 2035235- | 2017-10-31. Service bulletin. FUEL SYSTEM, OTHER:DELIVERY:FUEL PUMP; ENGINE. The customer reports that the engine warning light illuminates sporadically. The engine may have reduced performance without significant loss of power or stalling. Noise is heard coming from the engine compartment, specifically from the High Pressure Fuel Pumps 2. DTCs are stored in the engine control module (ECM). The fuel metering valve of the high-pressure fuel pump is controlled by a specific on/off ratio. If there is a low system voltage, the on/off ratio may not be enough to keep the fuel metering valve constant in all areas. In such a situation, the fuel metering valve is deactivated and the high-pressure fuel pump switches to full supply mode. Because the increased rail pressure does not match the respective driving situation, the DTC appears. |
| Executive Servic | 2017-10-27. Service bulletin. ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING; POWER TRAIN; EQUIPMENT:OTHER:OWNERS/SERVICE/OTHER MANUAL; SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC:FLUID; STEERING:HYDRAULIC POWER ASSIST:POWER STEERING FLUID. This document contains a fluid capacity chart as well as a chart that contains the parts and part numbers needed for service. |
| A191560 2036167- | 2017-10-27. Service bulletin. ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING. Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 19 number 14-47 dated January 31, 2014. |
| A171563 2038129- | 2017-10-27. Service bulletin. ENGINE. Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 17 number 14-53 dated November 7, 2014. A check with the engine oil service dipstick T40178 is necessary, but the adjustment values for the dipstick are not available in the Elsa repair manual. Because of a system change, the adjustment values for the service dipstick T40178 were removed from the repair manual. |
| A011524 2040491- | 2017-10-25. Service bulletin. ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING. The MIL is on. "Coolant System: Fault Turn Off Engine" and the coolant symbol appears in the information panel. DTC P1B1C00 is stored in the ECM. |

The noises are caused by one of the upper chain tensioners. The noises do not lead to damage. Improved chain tensioner. |
| A171562 2040644- | 2017-10-21. Service bulletin. ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING. A metallic whistling or grinding sound is heard from the engine compartment when the vehicle is at idle speed. The sound usually only occurs when the engine is warm. The MIL is sporadically on. DTC P2279 and DTC P0507 are stored in the ECM. A leak in the crankcase breather module (pressure regulating valve) can cause this condition. |
| A011523 2036558- | 2017-10-21. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:SOFTWARE; ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING. Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 01 number 14-99 dated October 16, 2014. DTC P218100 (Cooling System Performance) is stored in the engine control module (ECM), J623 (address word 01). DTC P218100 will be stored if, after a specified air flow (warm-up phase), the measured engine temperature does not reach the value in the timing map. Particles in the cooling system from the production process affect the closing of the coolant thermostat. Replacing the coolant temperature sender does not fix the problem. |
| A171557 2010043- | 2017-10-21. Service bulletin. ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING. Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 17 number 13-35 dated January 9, 2013. This bulletin lists engine oils that meet Audi oil quality standards (VW 501 01, 502 00, 505 00, 505 01, and 504 00/507 00). |

Prior to engine replacement, any debris lodged in transferred assemblies must be removed. If the engine experienced a serious mechanical problem, it is possible that small pieces of metal debris resulting from the mechanical problem may have become deposited in the intake manifold, air intake hoses, exhaust manifolds, exhaust down-pipes, turbocharger, supercharger, and/or intercooler. If these metal debris pieces are not removed prior to the installation and operation of the replacement engine, they could be drawn into the combustion chamber, which can cause a knocking noise and subsequent serious engine damage. |
