Service bulletins for the 2013 Audi S5

A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

Squeaking noises are heard when the steering wheel is turned or maneuvered. The noises may be more prevalent in wet weather. The folds of the outer rubber boots on the front axle shafts may come in contact with each other when the steering wheel is turned, causing squeaking noises. These noises are more likely to occur when the vehicle is new. The volume and occurrence of the noise will dissipate after a short break-in period.
A441450 2022563-2017-11-08. Service bulletin. SUSPENSION; STEERING: STEERING WHEEL/HANDLE BAR. Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 44 number 14-49 dated April 17, 2014. Customer feels vibration in the seat, vehicle floor, footwell, pedals, or steering wheel. This condition does not lead to any handling concerns or loss of vehicle control. The customer feels the vibration while driving at highway speeds from 55 ? 80 mph (88 ? 128 km/h). This bulletin is not applicable if this vehicle has a Repair Authorization on this topic. If an applicable Repair Authorization is not followed, the claim will not be paid. The vibrations felt by the customer could be a result of the harmonic vibrations caused by the radial force variation (RFV) of the tires or an imbalance of the wheel and tire assembly.
A481457 2034351-2017-11-08. Service bulletin. STEERING; WHEELS. Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 48 number 13-47 dated August 2, 2013. Customer may report hearing creaking or squeaking noise from the steering column when steering slowly (the noise can be duplicated while the vehicle is stationary if the steering wheel is turned slowly). The noise may get louder at higher temperatures or when the vehicle is driven for a longer period of time. The noise comes from the sealing sleeve/steering column opening on the bulkhead. Listen to the attached audio file for example of the noise. Insufficient lubrication of the intermediate steering shaft in the area of the sealing sleeve.

Steering wheel is not level or is off-center. These conditions may be noticed during PDI. If the condition is due to outside influence (such as an accident), this TSB does not apply. In an effort to gain information on this condition, Audi of America is asking you to contact the Audi Technical Assistance Center (TAC) before you perform any repairs.
A441344 2022563-2017-10-31. Service bulletin. STEERING; SUSPENSION. Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 44 number 13-42 dated September 27, 2013. Customer feels vibration in the seat, vehicle floor, footwell, pedals, or steering wheel. This condition does not lead to any handling concerns or loss of vehicle control. A351315 2030477-2017-10-31. Service bulletin. STEERING:GEAR BOX (OTHER THAN RACK AND PINION); POWER TRAIN. Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 35 number 13-14 dated August 30, 2013. Message appears in the information display: "Gearbox malfunction: you can continue driving". One or more fault entries are stored in the transmission control module. Fault codes and symptom codes must match exactly or this TSB should not be followed. Instructions for obtaining the symptom codes are in the Service section of this bulletin. Poor internal contact area on circuit board will lead to faults. Oil additives can cause the plastic circuit plates to delaminate, causing contact loss.
A481354 2028220-2017-10-31. Service bulletin. WHEELS; STEERING. Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 48 number 12-30 dated June 25, 2012. Steering wheel appearance damaged due to external impact (e.g., contact with finger nails, zippers, watches, rings, etc.). External impact (e.g., contact with finger nails, zippers, watches, rings etc.) can cause damage to the appearance of the steering wheel. This type of damage is not warrantable, as numerous investigations have shown that there is no fault in material or workmanship.
A451307 2033412-2017-10-31. Service bulletin. STEERING. Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 97 number 13-35 dated March 27, 2013. Steering wheel does not lock. Various warning lights are on. Steering feels stiffer than usual. The engine cannot be switched off. The ignition key cannot be removed. There are DTC entries present in the system (either static or sporadic). DTCs are stored in the ABS control module. This condition does not result in any drivability concerns. The steering system is fully connected. The insulation for the ABS wheel speed sensor is damaged in production. Over time, this can lead to corrosion on the wires and restricted functions with the ABS control module. Only the wires in the left bulkhead grommet are affected.
A441342 2022563-2017-10-31. Service bulletin. SUSPENSION; STEERING. Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 44 number 13-36 dated February 18, 2013. This bulletin is not applicable if this vehicle has a Repair Authorization on this topic. Customer feels vibration in the seat, vehicle floor, footwell, pedals, or steering wheel. This condition does not lead to any handling concerns or loss of vehicle control. The customer feels the vibration in one or both of the following circumstances: * When driving at highway speeds from 55 - 80 mph (88 - 128 km/h). * When applying low brake pedal pressure with minor slow down. The vibrations felt by the customer could be a result of the harmonic vibrations caused by the radial force variation (RFV) of the tires.
A401335 2023187-2017-10-31. Service bulletin. STEERING; WHEELS. Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 40 number 12-23 dated May 14, 2012.
